She stared in horror. She would never be going home. She wanted to break down in tears or smash everything in sight. And the fact that most people knew she was a girl now.

She stood up and glared. "You can't send me home?" She said sorrowfully.

"Show me everything that you brought here with you. Do you have some form of identification, a driver's license perhaps? Or even a...shoe? You do seem a tad bit...empty-handed." Crowley said. She knew it was a jab at her. She took off the robe and revealed the outfit that she was wearing when she came here. Crowley was shocked.

"Hmm.. I don't recognise these things." Crowley said with his arms crossed.

"Well, this is quite the predicament. I cannot have someone with no aptitude for magic bumbling about my magic academy. And yet, as an educator, I am loath to expel a young person without a cent to their name, or any ability to contact their guardian... Truly, my grace is boundless." Crowley said like he was the most benevolent person ever for letting Y/N and Grim stay in the Academy, already they were being treated like burdens.

"Hmmmmm... Ah! There is a vacant building on this campus. It was, in fact, used as a dorm a long time ago. With a proper cleaning, it should be habitable enough. Out of the profound kindness of my heart, I will allow you to live there for the time being!" Crowley gave a smile. It was like Grim and her were burdens for being here.

Y/N put on a fake smile and said, "Thank you for your generosity towards me and Grim." She gave a small curtsy just to let Crowley think he was the most benevolent being ever. In her eyes, everyone here was flawed in their own ways. The Heartslabyul dorm leader, his grip on the rules was too harsh. The Savanaclaw dorm leader, he wasn't trying. The Octavinelle dorm leader, he was quite literally making people sign their souls away. The Pomefiore dorm leader, his grip on his beauty was too harsh to the point it affected others. The Iginhyde dorm leader, he was filled with fear. The Scarabia house warden, he was too naive. Eventually people would use him. The Diasomnia house warden, she didn't know what he was like.

She followed Crowley down the hallway. She looked down at her foot and saw Grim barely keeping up. So she picked him up and carried him. Seeing as now he was her familiar, she would treat him as such. It was dark when she arrived at the building. She seemed... offended. This man wanted her to stay in a hazardous, old, damp building!

She folded her arms. "You want me to stay in this?" She said with her disgust unmasked for Crowley.

"Yes! This should keep the elements at bay for the time being. Now, I should return to my research. Do try to find some way to busy yourself. But don't let me catch you wandering the campus! Ta!" Crowley said before he walked off. Y/N took off the black robe and immediately pried a broom off the floor. She would take cleaning this place up into her own hands. Her mother had taught her how to clean the palace, so how hard would this be?

Suddenly, rain began to pour. It doused the windows and Y/N ran to shut the door and the windows. She didn't need to be sleeping in a damp housing area. She pointed at Grim.

"Go find any more cleaning tools." Y/N said as she had to multitask. She yanked the soaking wet entrance robes off them and gently tried to hang them up on rusty, old coat hangers.

"Heh? You want ME to help YOU? Ha! You got the wrong idea. I'm just a stranger takin' shelter from the rain. You ain't the boss of me. If ya had some cans of tuna to trade, well, that'd be another story. But I don't work for free." Grim said like it was utterly outrageous that she asked for help. Maybe she should pick up on how these people reacted and find out their weaknesses.

Three ghosts. Each in a circle around her. Somehow, they recognised her from the past. She stared at Grim as they both screamed in fear. Y/N threw the broom at them but it didn't do much, then Grim let out a breath of fire, and it seemed to scare them away.

"Thank you..." She said as she was out of breath. Grim seemed to believe he was now even better of a sorcerer.

The door slammed open with a loud sound. The rusty and old hinges of the door could be heard creaking. She snapped her head towards the door and walked over. It was the headmage, Crowley.

"Good evening! In another gesture of my immense kindness, I have brought you dinner.
Wait. That's the creature we ejected for causing trouble at orientation! What is it doing here?!" Crowley had bought them some delicious looking food. But Y/N didn't feel hungry. After losing everything and slowly processing what happened in her real world; it all hit like a truck.

"He means no harm." Y/N said quickly as she stood up. She took the food from Crowley and put it down. Crowley had seemed offended by Grim. Crowley then put his umbrella up and walked off. She shut the door behind him.
