2nd January 2024 10.00 a.m.
There was a slight hustle and bustle in the Raghuvanshi Mansion. Devadutt was reading the newspaper while the ladies were looking after the arrangements for pooja. It's the custom in the Raghuvanshi family to conduct a pooja before the beginning of the marriage ceremonies. The other men except Daivik were at the office due to a work emergency. The women had been on their toes since morning. Sruthilaya was looking after the decorations, Kaushalya was looking after the prasad and other offerings and Gayathri and Shanta were looking over the arrangements for the pooja at the venue.
"Arey, I told you to hang these in the entrance. Why haven't you still hung it? Go, and hang it on the entrance" Sruthilaya instructed. Gayathri came to the living room with Shanta.
"Daivik did you call Pandit Ji when will he be arriving?" Gayathri asked.
"Yes, Maa I called him. He will be arriving in half an hour"
"Alright, Sruthilaya are all the arrangements done?"
"Yes, Ma. All done"
"Good, Kaushalya are the Prasad and other offerings ready?"
"Yes, Maa. Just Panditji has to arrive."
"Hmm. But where is Ram? This pooja is mainly conducted for him and Sita, but he isn't here."
"He will be here soon Maa" Daivik said.
"I don't know. He should be here before the Pooja starts."
"Okay, Maa. I will inform him."
AFTER HALF AN HOUR,
The pandit arrived, and everything was ready for the pooja, yet the groom was not there. Gayathri was getting anxious, she asked,
"The pooja will start any minute now. But where is Ram? Why isn't he here yet?"
"I am here Dadi," Ram said while entering through the door.
"Why are you late?" she asked with her hands on her hips and a glare.
"Sorry, dadi. I got stuck in the traffic"
"We will talk about it later. Now sit down for the pooja, and pray for the successful commencement of the wedding ceremonies and your happy married life with Sita,"
He nodded and sat Panditji started the pooja. The atmosphere was filled with sacred chants, peace, and devotion. The pooja was conducted in their temple in the backyard of the mansion. It housed all the deities of Hinduism. Every mind was praying for peace and happiness for Ram and Sita.

After one and a half hours, Pooja ended, and the prasad and offerings were distributed. Everyone was anxious as Panditji was matching their horoscopes. Even though Ram believed in gods he did not believe in horoscopes. A huge smile appeared on his face, he looked at us and said,
"30 out of 36 qualities are matching. It's auspicious, there will be small conflicts but they will be happy and support each other in their married life." Everyone heaved a sigh of relief and then a huge smile formed.
"Panditji, then please suggest auspicious dates for roka, engagement, and wedding," Kaushalya exclaimed with a gleam.
"According to the planet placements, the 22nd is good for the Roka ceremony from morning 7.14 a.m. to the next day early morning 4.58 a.m., and the 25th of February from afternoon 1.15 to evening 8.05 is auspicious for engagement you can keep it between this time. As for the wedding, there are two dates, July 12th and November 17th. On July 12th the Muhurat is from early morning 5.15 a.m to next morning 5.32 a.m. On November 17th the Muhurat is from Morning 6.45 a.m. to the next day morning at 6.46 a.m."
"Okay, Pandit ji we will decide the date after discussing with the bride's family and confirm the date, then you suggest dates for other ceremonies," Gayathri said.
"Alright, Gayathri ji. I will be taking your leave. I have to go to a housewarming ceremony."
"Okay. Daivik gives his Dakshina."
After receiving the Dakshina Pandit left and everyone was discussing the dates. At the same time, Gayathri was on call with Sulakshna informing them about the Roka ceremony. Ram was standing on his balcony thinking about all the events that happened. Even though in the past two weeks, he got a bit comfortable with Sita he couldn't ignore the nervousness he was feeling. But still, he decided to believe his family who always only wished for his happiness.
He could say that even if their married life will not be all flower beds, he knew that they would work it out, perhaps he could move on from the past and get his happily ever after. He decided to get some office work done. If anyone sees him they will think that he is engrossed in work but only he knows that he cannot concentrate on the work.
