chapter fourteen
trapped and dying

"hey," derek hale's voice was soft as he smiled down at her, both his hands holding onto hers, "you're okay," he saw the confusion on her face.

"why am i here?" dylan swallowed, closing her eyes.

"you fainted, again," derek didn't want to believe it, he didn't want to believe ms. blake was the darach but the story stiles and scott told him, made him believe now.

she hurt her.

dylan turned her head, tears gaze over her blue eyes, her face as pale as snow, and she smiled weakly, "you're here."

derek laughed lowly, nodding his head as he held onto her hand a little tighter, tears falling down his cheeks, "i told you i would never leave, not again, dyl."

the girl went limp again, not being able to fight the urge to stay awake. derek's body shook, his sobs quiet but his body showed so much pain.

the wolf stood up and leaned down, pressing his lips to her forehead, "please be okay," he pushed her sweaty hair out of her face, "please."

"for me,"

"hey, anyone wanna tell me when they're getting dylan out of here?" peter hale exclaimed as he walked down the halls of the hospital, cora right beside him.

stiles and scott were with derek, still trying to convince him ms. blake was the darach. a part of him just couldn't believe it. plus they all knew he had a thing for her.

but at the hospital, it was a nightmare. a pretty bad thunderstorm was rolling in, causing everyone to panic and try to evacuate as quick as possible.

"sorry, but she wasn't, uh-" melissa came in, her eyes widening when she saw peter, "you're supposed to be dead."

"i get that a lot, actually," he told her.

cora looked to dylan, noticing the beeping had sped up and she woke, gasping before leaning over and throwing up a black substance.

mistletoe.

the nurses ran in to help dylan, noticing she was not getting any better but couldn't dare to tell cora and peter that.

minutes later, peter got a call and motioned for his niece to follow him, "it's not good," he sighed, cora not taking her eyes off of her, "she's in and out of consciousness. she's vomiting up black blood along with one other alarming substance."
