"OFF WITH YOUR HEAD!" She heard a loud, angry scream from Grim. She didn't know if he was okay or not. What if he just actually lost his head? What if this school was a school for madmen? Was everyone here crazy?
Maybe magic actually existed? Maybe Grim would be okay? "Grim?!" She used echolocation and her cane to find Grim. When she found him and patted him, she found that he had his head on. Just with a collar. She felt the collar and it's shape. It was a collar with hearts. She seemed horrified in a way but she didn't express it.
"The Queen of Heart's Rule 23: "One must never bring a cat to a formal affair."
Your very presence here is a violation of order. You will vacate these premises immediately." Riddle said harshly. That was quite harsh, even for Grim. She gave him a pat of pity. He didn't deserve that in all honesty. He was just an innocent little weasel cat thing in her opinion."But I ain't a cat either! Don't try to collar me! I'll burn it right off! Huh...? Wh-what gives? My fire ain't workin'!" Grim said. Grim sounded scared now, like he was actually terrified of something. Was Grim scared of being vulnerable?
"Until I decide to remove that collar, you won't be using any magic. You're naught but a pet cat now." Riddle said harshly. After she had been publicly embarrassed by the mirror and Grim was being probably mistreated, she wanted to bawl her eyes out. She felt like she was doing EVERYTHING wrong. Like she was messing every last thing up. Every. Last. Thing.
"M-meoWHAT?! I ain't nobody's pet-NOTHING!" Grim sounded scared and nervous now. Like he was an innocent cat, scared for his life. Like a prey before the slaughter. Y/N felt pity for him. She didn't want to be stuck here in this world.
"Oh, you've nothing to worry about there. I certainly have no interest in having you as a pet. The collar will disappear once you're removed from campus." Riddle said. It's clear his verdict would not be swayed. But Y/N tried to sway it, kicking Grim off of campus to be homeless would be cruel.
"Mr um... Mr Riddle..? That would be really cruel. Just to kick him off of campus like he's nothing. D-Don't you think he'd like starve to death..?" And she wanted to bawl her eyes out. She had accidentally stuttered. She wanted the ground to open up and swallow her WHOLE. Why did she have to mess up infront of everyone? Oh my God. What if everyone hated her now? Oh my God! What if people thought she was a useless nobody?! These thoughts raced through her head at 50 miles per hour.
"He is vermin here. He isn't welcome." Riddle said harshly again. She seemed so embarrassed.
"Ha-HA! Good show as always, Riddle. You're signature spell locks down any magic. It's quite handy. I've just GOT to have it—ah, I mean, I've just got to have respect for it." Azul said. He was laughing at the whole situation probably. It was cruel in her eyes. How could he just laugh at someone like that? Maybe everyone here lacked basic empathy that she was sure everyone should have.
"Y/N! Was I not clear that you are expected to take responsibility for your familiar? Now discipline your—What's that? It isn't yours?" Crowley spoke. He seemed like, sad. Maybe disappointed? God. She didn't know.
"It isn't mine.. Um.. Mr Crowley.. But you shouldn't kick it out into the streets!" She said. Y/N didn't want him to be kicked into the streets, unable to fend for himself. That is what would be considered cruel!
"Well, that was quite the unexpected commotion. I hereby declare that orientation has concluded. Housewardens, please escort your students back to the dorms. ...Hm? Come to think of it, I don't see Housewarden Draconia of House Diasomnia anywhere?" Crowley said. Had they forgotten a poor soul?
Maybe that's why everyone in this school could be horrifically cruel?
