it had been a week since the 127 incident. ten had taken the weekend off of his mafia duties and was using his time to rest.
wayv had heard nothing from dream, and yet felix had still been insistent that it was somebody from dream who had reported the location, and was adamantly warning ten about the dangers of an ambush, suggesting that he get a bodyguard.
"felix, i'm sure its fine. we can protect ourselves, i keep multiple guns in my apartment and i can defend myself." ten had reassured his assistant, but he could tell it did not give felix peace of mind.
felix had history of being in a gang-related group, but they had stopped doing crime years before and were instead mainly centered in levanter enterprises, where ten worked as assistant ceo. of course, felix knowing how mafia life can be, was very cautious of ten.
levanter's ceo was none other than christopher bang, australian like felix— but had been living in korea for much longer. the two were in the gang together, but after breaking the group apart, felix now worked as an insider for wayv.
other members of this former group worked around levanter— a young man named han jisung, for example, worked as the company's cmo, or chief marketing officer. another man, seo changbin, worked as the cfo— or chief financial officer. yang jeongin and kim seungmin, two other former members, worked as executive assistants. felix, however, was the only one who knew of ten's position inside of wayv.
ten was taking his weekend to rest, and was going to bed around 8pm every night. he could feel his headaches begin to ease up, but he knew they would never completely disappear.
ten was also extremely worried about the man from 127, about how he had felt so connected to him in that moment, how his heart panged a little when he shot him— but mostly, he was worried for his safety. ten knew how dangerous 127 could be, they were 9 official members strong and held many connections across seoul.
upon his return to wayv's mansion, he was greeted once again by yangyang in the kitchen, joined by xiaojun and winwin.
"ten!! how was your weekend!" yangyang chirped as ten sat down at the counter next to xiaojun.
"i finally got some sleep, which was nice." ten sighed, truly he was feeling much better. "i'm back to do more deals though. kun needs me going to the maverick tonight to work out a deal."
the maverick was a large and popular bar lounge, and was infamous for its live music and also, its not-very-hidden drug dealing. it was a huge spot for profit, and kun had notified ten that their shipment was a day late and that the club's owner, lee sangyeon, was getting frustrated.
"ah. who's going with you?" xiaojun asked.
"probably winwin? since we partner up for most missions." ten nodded to winwin and he nodded back.
the four men continued to converse in the kitchen until ten decided it was time to leave for the maverick. it was a relatively long drive, as the club was located in the depths of downtown seoul, in the center of all the nightlife.
ten arrived back in the foyer in all black— a large hoodie, fitted ripped jeans, a baseball cap, and a mask pulled just below his chin. for extra safety, he was wearing his bulletproof vest underneath his hoodie just over a thin longsleeve, as with his luck recently he might need it. winwin was in similar attire— black jeans, a turtleneck, and a leather jacket. they carried the duffel bags of who knows what out to the van, and descended into downtown seoul.
"are you nervous?" winwin asked.
ten chuckled. "why would i be?"
"the maverick is technically on 127 grounds. they're prevalent among this district." winwin explained.
