Norman's POV

It's Monday, after school. So I'm standing outside of a nice house, like a nice nice house. I'm about to tutor whatever one of my classmates lives here I guess.

Knock knock. A middle-aged woman with black hair opens the door. She smiles at me kindly. "Norman welcome," she says gesturing me in. "Oh, thank you Mrs..?" She trails off. "Ahh, just call me Isabella, Mrs.Isabella if you'd prefer," she tells me. I nod. "Ray is upstairs in his room I'll grab him for you but then I have a business matter to attend to, thank you so much Norman," she smiles.

She gestures that I sit at the island and so I do setting my stuff in front of me. Ray huh? That one gay kid. That sounds mean but I barely know anything about him. Other than he likes to draw and he's pretty good. He shouldn't be hard to tutor. When he actually says things in class (which isn't often) he sounds smart.

Ray trudges down the stairs. I grimace a little, the only difficulty is his lack of effort or care. His mom owns a company, that's the one other thing I know about him. The fact that he can just take over the company when he's old means that he barely has to put any effort in and he'll still be just fine in the future. Snobby rich kids, they never have to work for anything.

Anyways Mrs.Isabella waves goodbye to us and I sit at the kitchen island with him. "So do you want to start with math or maybe language arts?" I ask him. He sighs "Language arts I guess." I nod. "So we have an essay coming up, how's yours going?" I ask. "Fine, I mean I haven't started it but I can figure it out," he tells me. It's due in like four days and he hasn't started it? "So what are you going to write it on?" I ask. He shrugs. "So I guess that's where we'll start," I sigh.

We start a draft. It's not hard to tutor him. I don't have to teach him much just direct him on what to do and watch him actually do it. "Why'd your mom suddenly want you to have a tutor?" I ask him. "She's worried about my future or whatever," he replies.

"Why are you tutoring people?" he asks me in return. "For fun, I love teaching my classmates how to do their work in my free time," I say sarcastically. "Money," I tell him. He nods and keeps typing his draft.

I'm so hungry. My stomach hurts so much. It starts to grumble. Ray pauses and looks at me. "Uhm... do you like want a snack? We have crackers... Oreos... fruit?" He offers. "Yeah whatever's fine. thanks," I smile. I read over one of his paragraphs while he grabs a snack.

He comes back with a bowl of strawberries and a box of Oreos. He sets them between us as he sits back in his chair. I grab a strawberry and much on it happily.

I watch him type some more and give him a few suggestions and then it's finally time for me to leave. I start packing my stuff up to head home and then to my debate practice after I drop some stuff off at home. Ray walks me to his front door. "Bye Norman, see you Thursday," he nods. "Yup see you then!" I smile.

Rays POV

I shut the door as Norman leaves. That wasn't too bad. At least I have my essay draft completed. What do I do now? Maybe I'll call Emma. Who else would I call? Truthfully she's my only friend and I guess Gilda is sorta my friend too. I'll text Emma.

Ray: Hey
Emma: Hii!!
Ray: do I wanna hang out at my house? Like rn
Emma: sure!
Ray: sweet, cya in 10 :)
Emma: yup, BYEEE

I grab the box of Oreos and pop one into my mouth. Oreos are my favorite thing ever. I would kill someone if they tried to take my Oreo. Oreos above humans any day.

I sit in the living room and turn on Southpark to watch for a bit. Eventually, Emma walks into my house (she doesn't knock she basically lives here). "Hii!" Emma says as she shuts the door. "Hey, welcome," I greet her. She plops onto the couch and kicks her feet up. Her blue platform Converse look oddly clean. "Did you clean your converse?" I ask her. "Yeah, they were getting really dirty," she explains.

We sit in silence and watch Southpark. Honestly a lot of the time when me and Emma hang out and just sit quietly, not all the time but I like just being around her so I don't mind just sitting with her and scrolling on my phone.

"Hey Rayyy," she smiles at me. "God what do you want," I sigh. "Do you wanna play Uno? Or go fish?" She asks. "Uno all the way, go grab the cards," I tell her. She races off down the hall to get the cards and I scoot to the floor in front of the coffee table.

Emma runs back down the hall, Uno card in hand. She almost trips mid-way but regains her balance. She starts to open the card as she sits next to me. Uno is a game I'm good at. Not for any reason I'm just good at it. Emma starts to shuffle the deck and deal.

"How'd tutoring go?" She asks me. I shrug "Not as bad as I thought it would be. It's Norman tutoring me by the way," I tell her. Emma smiles as she finishes dealing out the cards. A smile on her face turns into a smirk. "Norman's cute you should flirt with him!!" She teases me. "Emma, do you hear yourself? He's as straight as a board and not my type," I grumble. "Wobbly ass board if it's as straight as him," the red-headed girl comments. "He's straight, I'll bet 50 bucks," I sigh while flipping the top card to start the game. Emma plays a green 3 and says "ok deal! He's so totally gay. You know I have impeccable gaydar, you've basically already lost!" She laughs.
