Chahrazad, with a heart full of anticipation, had long dreamed of settling down in the city of Lunaris, nestled in the heart of Thaloria, known as the "City of Eternal Dreams." Surrounded by sapphire lakes and silver-hued mountains, it stood as a beacon of beauty and serenity. Its marble streets, adorned with lush gardens and golden lanterns, created an atmosphere that enchanted all who visited. For Chahrazad, Lunaris offered a canvas upon which she could paint her aspirations. A life free from the constant upheaval of travel, a chance to focus on mastering her skills, pursue a meaningful path, and one day build a family—these were the dreams that fuelled her resolve.
Yet, as fate often does, it casts a shadow over Chahrazad's newfound aspirations. Just as she was preparing to embark on her journey at the Academy, an unexpected tragedy loomed.
On the eve of her younger sister Lyra's 10th birthday—a day meant for joy and celebration—darkness crept into their world. Chahrazad, excited to reunite with her family for the festivities in Verilia, woke up early with a heart full of anticipation. She rushed through her morning routine, humming a lively tune as she imagined the surprise party they had planned for Lyra. "I can't wait to see her face when she sees the decorations!" she thought, her heart racing with excitement.
The plan was simple: meet her uncle, Lord Eryndor, who had been caring for Lyra at his estate, and travel together to the grand celebration. "Uncle Eryndor always has the best stories," she mused, a smile brightening her face at the thought.
Following the plan meticulously, Chahrazad sent word to her father through a trusted courier, informing him that they were on their way. "Father will be proud to see us together again," she whispered, her optimism unyielding. Her father, ever the vigilant protector, took every precaution. He arranged for an escort of knights to meet them at the city gates of Verilia, ensuring their safe journey to the grand celebration.
As the wheels of fate turned, an unsettling tension crept into the air. Chahrazad noticed the clouds gathering on the horizon but dismissed them as a passing storm. "It's just a little rain," she told herself. However, unbeknownst to her, a tempest was brewing—one that would soon disrupt the peaceful rhythm of their lives and forever alter their destinies.
The overcast morning, so unlike the joyous celebration they had envisioned, seemed to whisper of impending turmoil. "It's too quiet," she thought, glancing at the darkening sky. The calm before the storm wrapped around them, casting a heavy silence over what should have been a day filled with laughter and light.
As she made her way to the carriage, Chahrazad took a deep breath and reached for Lyra's hand. "Today is going to be special, I promise," she said, trying to quell the nagging feeling in her chest. Lyra's eyes sparkled with innocence, oblivious to the foreboding atmosphere. Together, they stepped into the carriage, unaware of the storm waiting just beyond the horizon.
