Diaval carried me all the way back to the house, making me laugh the whole way. "Would ya quit actin like your gonna throw me off?" I asked, through a wave of giggles. "Why? It's making you laugh." He said, shrugging his shoulders. "I've decided that I like hearing you laugh. In fact I've decided that I like you." He stopped, and looked over his shoulder at me. I could feel my ears heating up. "How do you know? You just met me today mate." I asked, playing with the collar of his shirt. He shrugged again. "I call it a gut feeling." He said, walking again. "A gut feeling lad?" I questioned, tapping his shoulder. He let me down, I landed with a slight oof. "Jesus, you're taller than you look." I said, walking to the stairs leading to the back door. Sitting down on the first couple of steps. "Yeah, a gut feeling. Like it's saying that if I don't shoot my shot... I'll miss out on something very special.." He said, running a hand through his hair nervously. I stared wide eyed at him, watching him crouch down in front of me. His hands resting on the outside of my thighs, a shiver ran down my spine. I quickly dropped my gaze to my lap, feeling him stare at me. "Rowan, Look at me." He said, I glanced at him, not fully lifting my face up. "Rowan." His tone had an edge to it, causing me to squirm. I relented, and lifted my head up. He smiled sweetly. "There's my good girl." He whispered, I bit my lip, willing myself to keep eye contact. He smiled, something in me broke. 'I love seeing him smile... huh I don't remember feeling like this with my ex... I want more..' I thought to myself, then a cold feeling settled in my stomach. Causing me to shiver. "P-please tell me you aren't fuckin with me.." I whispered, chewing my lip. Trying to keep my breathing calm, and tears at bay. Both of Diavals' hands came up to cup my face, his eyes full of love and sadness. "Red, I'm not remotely joking. Look, I know it's weird, but I honestly like you. I want to get to know you, what you like, what you dislike. Absolutely everything about you." He said, his thumbs wiping tears I didn't know were there. I looked at Diaval in the dim porch light. The wind picked up, whipping our hair all over the place. I wasn't bothered by it. I was so focused on him. More specifically his lips, the way they curved when he smiled. The way his lip rings hugged his bottom lip, and even sparkled in the dim light. I looked up to his eyes, there was nothing but love and affection in them.

Before I could register what I was doing, my hands were gripping his shirt, pulling him closer. Diaval pulled me in the rest of the way, his lips brushing against mine. He pulled away, chuckling, as I chased his lips. I stopped when I felt his finger on my lips, his eyes smoldering. Taking a second to think about what just happened, I blushed. "I-I'm sorry-" I started, Diaval cut me off. "Hey, no. I should've asked, I started to act on impulse.." He trailed off, I shook my head. "If me pulling you in wasn't enough of an invitation enough." I muttered under my breath, he raised his eyebrow at me. "Hmm, we might have to retry that later." He said, causing me to bite my lip. "I'll only go as far as you want to go." He said, helping me up. I nodded, looking up at the almost black sky. "God, it's so dark. I've never seen storm clouds like this before. It's not even 7 pm." I said, Diaval hummed in agreement. A bright flash lit up the sky, I instantly hugged Diaval. Hiding my face in his chest, just as the thunder hit. Causing me to jump, and yelp. He wrapped his arms around me protectively, the both of us got soaked in a matter of seconds. The cold water biting at my skin, the wind not helping. Whipping the rain around, strands of my hair sticking to my face. The back door opened. "Both of yas, get inside." Mom called out. Diaval scoped me up bridal style, carrying me up the stairs and into the house. He sets me down in a chair, then gently takes my boots off. "Sweetheart?" He asked gently, brushing my wet hair out of my face. I let out a shaky breath, he sounded like he was under water. "Her eyes seem glazed over, is she having a panic attack?" He sounded really muffled. Dad came up behind Diaval. "Boys, give the girl some room! Hamish, go check to see if she has anything. Most likely lad, thunder does that to her. Just give her some space, and she'll come back." Mum chided, Diaval and Dad both backed off shyly. Dad nodded, and left the kitchen. Diaval moved to sit at my side, to take off the boots he wore. "I should have looked at the weather today.." Diaval sighed, brushing his hair out of his eyes. His words sounded clearer, and I hummed in response. "I'll have Hamish look through his claes." Mom said, leaning on the kitchen island. I looked down at Diaval, shivering slightly. I tapped his shoulder, He looked up. "Hi." I whispered, playing with his hair. He smiled. "Hi, yourself. Whatchu thinkin' about?" He asked, I took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Thinking about a nice bosie, and it's not yer fault mate. Who knew this s-storm was g-gonna be this bad?" I said, sitting up straight as Dad walked into the kitchen. "Diaval, I put some claes in the upstairs lavvy. Both you and Rowan go change, then you can hang oot." Dad said, winking at mum. I raised my eyebrow, but didn't bring any attention to it. Slowly standing up, I stretched. "Can we just hang in my room?" I asked, helping Diaval up. Mum, and Dad looked at each other, Mum nodded. "As long as you have yer door cracked open a wee bit." Dad said, we nodded. Dad handed me the water bottles I pulled out of the fridge earlier. "Have fun." He chirped. I smiled, guiding Diaval through the living room. He let out a low whistle. "Nice digs Red." He said, eyeing the small piano in the far corner. "You play?" He asked, coming to a stop. I looked back at him, then towards the piano. "A little. Maybe I'll play something for you later." I said, looking down at the floor between us. "I would love that." He said, pulling me closer to him.
