Diaval blushed his eyes darting to our hands, then back up to me. I giggled moving my hand, taking another bite of my sandwich letting Diaval work out what was going on in his head. Watching his facial features with amusement, I jumped slightly at my phone buzzing. I picked it up looking at the screen. "Who is it?" Diaval asked around a bite of his sandwich. I gave him a dubious look. "Classy, and it's just my mum." I said, looking at the text.
Mom: why don't ya bring the laddie to the hoose?
Me: So you, and da can have a go at 'im?
Mom: Och no dearie, Jesus, Mary, and Joseph child. You'd be more chill oot 'ere. Yer gaftin'
Me: Maw! Honestly.
Mom: Just bring him
Me: Feck sakes, fine.
Sighing I turned off the screen, and set my phone down taking a sip of my drink. "Hey Red, everything ok?" Diaval asked concern laced into his voice, I nodded giving him a tightlipped smile. "Aye." I chirped, taking a quick bite before he could ask anything else. Diavals' eyes never left mine. I internally sighed, swallowing my bite. "My mum wants you to come over..." I trailed off, taking a deep breath before continuing. "At least it'll be more comfy there." I said, giving him a sheepish smile. and looking away. "Hell, I'm down!" He said. I snapped my eyes back to him, he seemed kinda giddy at the thought of coming over. I chuckled. "No funny business." I said, sticking out my tongue at Diaval and winking. "Let's at least finish half of our sandwiches before we go." Diaval said, his voice slightly strained. I nodded, and turned my attention to my food.
After a handful of moments in silence, diaval stood up. "I'm getting a refill, want one?" He asked, holding his hand out. I nodded, handing him my cup, clearing my throat from eating. "Thank you." I called after him, he shot me a smile over his shoulder walking away from me. I rolled my eyes and smiled. 'Yep im into him... fuck' I thought to myself, watching diaval get our drinks. I smiled when I saw him turn towards me, one cup in each hand. Walking up to the table, he bows and hands me my cup. "Your drink m'lady." He said, bowing his head slightly. I giggled, bowing my head. "Thank you, good sir." I purred, my voice dropping to a lower tone. Bringing my head up, I saw diaval blush and his eyes darken. The ferocity in his eyes made me bite my lip. "D-Diaval?" I questioned, my voice cracking slightly. "Hmm?" He rumbled, not taking his eyes off of me. A shiver ran down my spine, I cleared my throat pulling my gaze away from his, taking a small sip from my drink. "Q-quit undressing me with your eyes!" I playful snapped, diaval blinked and shook his head. "My apologies Rowan, I honestly can't help it." He said, rubbing the back of his neck. I rolled my eyes, and snorted. "Smooth mate." I cackled. Wrapping up the rest of my sandwich, then breaking off a piece of my cookie. Holding it up to his mouth, my eyes darting to his lip rings as he opened his mouth to take the chunk. "Do you think I'd look good with my lip pierced?" I blurted out, my eyes staying on the thin gold rings on his bottom lip. Then bringing my gaze up to his. "Hmm, I would say go to a professional. They'll be able to properly see what suits your lip type, and whatnot." He explained quickly, licking crumbs off of his bottom lip.
I couldn't hear anything over the roaring of my heart in my ears. 'Oh I'm down so bad..' I thought, shaking my head to clear my thoughts. "Sorry, zoned out a tad bit." Diaval just smiled. "Yeah, I could tell. Tell me Rowan, are you always daydreaming?" He asked, leaning down slightly I shuddered. Shaking my head. "No, not all the time. But ya know, most of it." I said, giving him a smirk. He let out a low whistle. "Easy Red, get to know me first." He whispered, grabbing his sandwich and rewrapping it, then grabbing his drink. "Shall we? Don't want to keep the parents waiting eh?" He snickered, I rolled my eyes. Grabbing my stuff. "Anything I can take to make things easier for ya?" He asked, I shook my head. "Naw, you gotta open the car." I said, he clicked his tongue at me. "You're right." He said. I put my cookie back into the paper pouch, setting it on top of my sandwich. Grabbing my sandwich, and cookie in one hand, my drink in the other. I turned to Diaval, smiling. "Ok, I'm ready." Walking beside him out of the shop, and into the parking lot. "Looks like there's gonna be a bad storm tonight." Diaval said, looking at the dark sky. I looked at the clouds, biting my lip. "Seems so, but it may hit sooner than you think." I said, looking toward him. "We should get going... I don't like being caught in storms.." I trailed off, not wanting to come across as whining. Diaval looked at me, concern radiating off of him. "Rowan. Sweetheart, I get your concern. C'mon, let's get into the car." He whispered, guiding me to the car. I nodded, enjoying the slight warmth he gave off. Setting his food, and drink on the top of the car, he unlocks the passenger side door.
