After the news of Jon's planned trip north, Sansa decided she needed to concentrate on the wars to the south while she could. She was going to need Jon's input as only he could provide the advice he gave to Daenerys. Therefore, that evening, after Jon had organised much of the trip, they were to plan Daenerys invasion of Westeros.
The painted table of Westeros was an enormous beast, and for someone who had no military experience, it was a beautiful ornamental piece. Sansa wasn't a Commander by any stretches of the imagination, but she had helped organise a few battles as Queen in the North, albeit only basic knowledge. However, Sansa had a fair idea of the upcoming battles from he previous knowledge, more specifically those which involved Daenerys and how she had been handled by her advisors. Sansa had her dream parchments with her and had manoeuvred all of the counters in the places she needed them. This included key players, such as friends and people of significance who died. There were also back-up counters as some of the people were in different places than the first time around.
"Shall we start?" Sansa asked, Jon nodded. "The first thing we need to be clear about is who is sided with and what has changed. Daenerys had Yara and Theon Greyjoy, Dorne, Lady Olenna, Lord Varys, and Tyrion Lannister on her side. Not to mention the three dragons, an army of Unsullied and a hoards of Dothraki screamers. Cersei had the Lannister forces, the Tarly's and Euron Greyjoy."
"When is Lady Margaery due to arrive?" Jon asked.
"Next week." Sansa told him. "Lady Olenna is already aware of her granddaughter's safety. I received a raven this morning, she has pledged for House Stark, despite knowing there are no suitable marriage prospects."
Jon looked at Sansa in shock. "She wants to marry her granddaughter off again already?"
Sansa nodded. "They want power, she shook her head. Despite knowing you are already betrothed, I am sure Lady Margaery will try her best to woo you."
Jon laughed and sidled up to Sansa. "If ours were a political match, there might be a tiny chance." he kissed her gently, "But we both know ours is more than that." he edged away and turned back to the table. "So Daenerys is one ally down and we have the Reach?"
"No." Sansa shook her head. "We have the Tyrell's." she pointed a counter which had been allocated for the Tarly's. "Daenerys kills Sam's father and brother. Now from what I could ascertain, Sam wasn't particularly fond of his father, but he loved his brother dearly. So I would like to try and save Dickon."
"How?" Jon asked.
"The Tarly's refused to side with a foreign invader. However they were Targaryen loyalists. I was going to suggest Dickon be in charge of transporting the grain from Highgarden to the north." Sansa explained.
"Has Olenna pledged grain?" Jon asked, Sansa nodded.
"Twenty thousand bushels." Sansa grinned. "That gives us around a five year supply. Hopefully that will see us through the winter, although I may had secured another six thousand from around the north. Then we have the glass gardens, but I digress. Last time the grain and gold was stolen by the Lannister's and transported north to Kings Landing, where Daenerys burned it all. I'd like Dickon to sail from Oldtown with the grain, hopefully evading Daenerys."
"You seem to have this all planned out, why do you need me?" Jon frowned. "I don't know Daenerys."
"I believe, when Daenerys first arrived, some thought she ought to target Kings Landing first, using her dragons. If she had done that, less people would have died, and maybe she wouldn't have gone quite as mad as she did. But Tyrion talked her out of it. Instead Tyrion convinced Yara Greyjoy to escort Ellaria Sand to Sunspear, where her Iron Fleet were to ferry the Dornish army back up to King's Landing. The plan was for the Dornish to lay siege to the capital alongside the Tyrell army. Meanwhile the Unsullied would sail for Casterly Rock and take it. I believe Tyrion still believed the gold mines were full, when they'd dried up years earlier."
