The chambers of Winterfell disappeared, and Jon was back with Drogon. He was already flying over the sea, and despite Jon not being in charge of the body, he could feel the sensation of something or someone on his back, in fact there was more than one from what he could tell from the movement.

"Who is on your back?"

Mother and little man.

Tyrion, Jon thought. "Where are we going?"

To find food and burn bad men. The dragon seemed comfortable with that, which wasn't a surprise.

"Do you like burning bad men?"

If mother wants me to burn, I am happy to burn. If not I only burn to eat.

Over the course of his time with the dragons, Jon had come to realise that they were like children in their mentality. He felt a kinship with Rhaegal, yet it seemed Drogon had the lighter personality. Viserion was very grouchy, even the other two seemed to consider him broody. Jon was intrigued by the fact he was getting to know her dragons better than she ever could. He knew their favourite foods, where they liked to fly, who their favourite people were. It was simply strange having this connection with another creature. Of course the dragons weren't actually communicating using the common tongue, or any language. He was simply translating the internal thoughts which were probably in some dragon language, yet he never heard a noise. The knowledge simply appeared in his head. However Jon had questions.

"Why are you bigger?" Jon asked.

Because mother likes me better and I go home.

"Where is home?"

Valyria. It makes us grow. Only me go.

"Why?"

When we all grow up, we are not brothers anymore. We might fight properly. Big dragons fight to kill. Mother doesn't want three big dragons.

"Does she know you might change and fight each other?"

No, but she doesn't want them bigger than me.

"Are Rhaegal and Viserion still children?" this was new information.

Until they go to Valyria.

"Will you fight each other?"

We will if you or mother asks. We might fight for food, but not kill.

"Why me?" Jon asked.

You are Master of dragons.

"I need their help with bad men. Do you mind if they go to Valyria, to grow up?" he asked tentatively.

No, all dragons should go. We only fight if told.

"I'll come back soon. I want to see Rhaegal and Viserion." Jon told him.

Be back soon. I like you.

"Next moment he was in the head of Rhaegal. Do you want to go to Old Valyria?" Jon asked.

Mother doesn't want us to go. Doesn't want to be alone.

"She has Drogon, she won't be alone." Jon reminded them. "She isn't here. Do you want to go?"

All dragons want to go. We grow up in Valyria.

"Then I want you to go to Old Valyria." Jon said kindly. "I give you permission to go."

Thank you. You want best for me.

"Do I need to tell Viserion or can you?" he asked.

You must tell him.
