So this au/idea starts with a younger Legosi not completely kid or teen but in between.
So he ends up being drugged by a random person (he maybe trusted) and the person was known for doing this kinda stuff already and police were looking for them. The drug makes his instincts go out of his control and he'd end up killing a herbivore or other creature that was dear to him.
And being so traumatized from not being able to control his own instincts that he doesn't speak or even look at the cops as they talk to him he just walks to them slowly and lets them arrest him.
Which set off red flags in their heads they luckily decided to dig deeper and found the reason why he went on a rampage and so was put in a mental institution/asylum to try and fix his trauma issues.
A lil idea n stuff for story
Either he ends up getting discharged and put into a school that accommodates him (cherryton) or
haru, els, pina, Jack, Louis, the tiger guy, tem, canines of 701, and other special characters are volunteer workers, patients, or friends he has before the incident and they help him through his trauma.
Like Jack could have been a friend before the incident haru, els, pina, or Louis try something new and end up liking to help ig or already be workers there both ideas I really like so I chose to say both
