RANI WAS AWOKEN by the ringing of her phone, someone was trying to call her.
She put two pillows on her ears to continue sleeping but the ringing just wouldn't stop. She finally got up and answered the phone.

" Hello? " She said over the phone.
" Rani, you need to come to the office. It's wedding season." Her boss replied.
"Kyu? But it's my day off Veer!" She yelled.
" We need you, in fact I'm calling all the workers in. Please come, bye."
The phone hung up. She sighed and scoffed. She couldn't even relax for a minute in this town.
She got up and prepared herself before heading outside to her car and driving to the office.

Today was a busy day, people were making calls everywhere and you couldn't even breathe in here! One of her coworkers saw her walk in and waved.
"Hi Rina Rani." She smiled sarcastically at her and made her way to her office, all while struggling.
Her boss was sitting there, making a call. When he turned his chair and saw her, he hung up.
"Hey Rina Ra-"
"Why wont everyone stop calling me that?! It's not funny." She blurted out as her boss chuckled.

"Anyway, I need you to fill in for me. A nice couple from Delhi are coming. I hope that you treat them with respect and don't scare them away like you did with the other customers."
"I won't. It was one time." She replied with a fake smile.
"Good, they're coming uh.... I forgot but it's okay. I'll be taking my leave now." Her boss left the office, going to God knows where.
She sat down on the chair, tapping her fingers waiting. A few seconds passed.. then a few minutes.. then a few hours.

Rani was asleep, tired of waiting. She suddenly felt a tap on her shoulder, a smooth voice calling her "Ma'am". She woke up to a guy and a girl next to her. She finally woke up when she realised these were her customers.
"Oh- Sorry ! Please sit down." She said, fixing her hair and feeling embarrassed. The two of them sat down infront of her.
"Ahem, hi my name is Rani. I'll be your marriage counsellor for now." She said, handshaking the girl first. When she went to shake the guy's hand, she froze. This was probably the most attractive guy she'd ever seen.. She was lost in her thoughts before his partner waved a hand at her face.
"Sorry guys. I'm a bit out of it today." She shook the guys hand hesitantly.
"No problem. I'm Meera and this is Raj." Rani smiled before taking out some papers.

"Nice to meet you two. Now, you both need to sign these before we can go on with the ceremony planning."
They both looked at each other before doing as said.
..........
"Uh- we heard this had Mumbai's best marriage planners." Raj said, breaking the silence.
"Oh yes, the best of the best." She said, with a nervous tone. It definitely didn't have the best marriage planners.
"So.. me and Raj were thinking about a small wedding. Not too much."

"Small wedding? Ma'am this is Hindustan. Not America. We don't do small." Rani replied.
"Okay well uhm. How about medium? Classic average wedding. That ok?"
"Of course Meera Ji. Anyway, you guys can come back tomorrow for the location planning. We need to close up soon." Rani said, but they didn't have to close up. She was just too nervous about the tall handsome guy literally right in front of her! That sounds really wrong, and it's wrong too. It's your customer Rani, get a grip!

They both took their leave and Rani sighed. When she got home, she dropped herself onto the bed and screamed into her pillow.
She couldn't sleep due to her nap earlier that lasted four hours. All she could think about was Raj. Wait, isn't it wrong to find someone in a relationship attractive? She didn't overthink it. After all, it's just a small crush.

RING RING RING same old alarm. Same old schedule. It's Monday, did you guess it? The most hated day in the planet. Rani was feeling really dizzy today, she didn't know why. She was in the bathroom, doing her hair until she got a face call from her boss,Veer.
She answered it and set it near the sink.
"Do you have to call me everyday in the morning?" She asked.
"Not really. Just here to make your day worse. I need you to... call the Dixit family, fill out the paperwork for their buffet, pay our photographers, and take your last customers to a guest house."
"Is that all? No no please keep going." She hung up and scoffed.

Fast forward to after she went to the office and finished some of the tasks, she just had to take Raj and Meera to a guest house. She called them from the number they left in their paperwork, no response. She tried calling one more time until she looked up from her phone and saw Raj across the street. She smiled politely and waved. He made his way to her.
"Hi."
"Hi. So uh.. where's Meera?" She asked.
"Something came up at her workplace in Delhi. It's just me now, it's mostly like this." He answered.
"Oh sorry. Uhm my cars over there I'll take you to the guesthouse."
They both got in her roofless car and she started driving. It was a silence drive for a while but Raj decided to speak up.

"Your last name is Ghoshal, right? I've seen your work before. It's pretty impressive."
Rani looked at him for a second and smiled. "Thank you. Tell that to my boss.."
Raj chuckled and looked at the road for a split second, he looked back at Rani.

"Your job is already impressive enough."
"Really? You must be joking. I'm a marriage counsellor but I'm not even married. Plus when i took this job offer my family stopped talking to me." She said before turning on some music.
"Yeah I can say that's a -1 point for you.." He said jokingly."
She rolled her eyes playfully. She hummed to the song that was playing.
" Nikli hai dilse ye duaa..."
"Srk fan?"
"Of course. Every desi person is a srk fan."

Soon enough, they arrived to their destination. Raj got out of the car as Rani rolled down her window.
"Thanks Rani." He smiled softly at her. He then remembered he forgot his phone.
"Oh uh can you get my phone for me it's right there-" He asked and Rani turned to the side, looking for it.
"Where?" She asked and he sighed as he bent a bit to get it. "Found it!" As Rani turned around, their faces were incredibly close.
Their eye contact lasted a few seconds, before she quickly handed him his phone.

"Here you go.. Bye Raj." She said awkwardly before driving away.
Raj raised his hand a bit, waving goodbye.
What the hell just happened??
