Sun was a young dragon half human, around 16 years old. He lived with his Mom in a cave by a big beautiful lake and woods. He was currently by the lake, skipping rocks across the water and just taking in the view.

It was a clear day, a bright blue sky with beautiful white fluffy clouds. The sun made the water shine like it was made of diamonds. There was a small dock where he liked to watch fish swim around and sometimes be born!

But as he was enjoying the scenery, he heard some strange chirping noise, like it needed help. But it didn't sound like a bird.. in fact.. it didn't sound like anything he's ever heard before. But whatever it was, it was clear it needed help.

He followed the sound, and it got louder and louder until he found what was making it.

It was a merman! He only heard stories of them and how they were extinct from humans hunting them for their tails and tears. Especially the tears. Apparently, they can help the sick and heal wounds quickly.

From what he could see is that he had a blue tail and mostly gray body. He was trapped in a fishing net covered in blood. It was probably cutting him.

He thrashed, trying to get out. Sun didn't waste any more time and immediately went to him. But when he got close, it only seemed to make the mer scared. So, he tried walking over slowly and spoke in a gentle voice.

"Hey, there. There's need to be scared. I'm going to hurt you." Sun said as he slowly sat in front of him. The mer calmed down a bit and was still whining in distress. Sun slowly started to cut the rope that was keeping the mer trapped.

Once he was done, he took a better look at him. At least.. he think it was a him? He was covered in blood and scars. Some old some new, but they definitely weren't from the rope. No.. these were from humans. His skin was gray, and his tail was blue with some little yellow stars. It was kinda hard to see, but they were there. He had black hair with some white in it, and sharp nails and teeth. And what looks like a crescent moon birth mark on his cheek. And lastly, beautiful red eyes. Well, eye.. it looks like his blind in his left eye.

Sun noticed that the mer was shaking and trying to cover himself up. Sun thought for a moment before having an idea. Though it might it end well if he's not careful.

He moved closer to the mer, "I have an idea, but I need you to let me pick you up if you'll let me." Sun said as sweetly as he could. The mer was still shaking as he thought for a moment before nodding slowly as if still unsure.

Sun carefully put his hands under the mer before lifting him up in bridle style and holding him against his chest. The mer squeaked and quickly rapped his arms around Sun's neck.

Sun started to walk back to the lake and onto the dock before slowly putting the mer in the lake. The mer let go of Sun and stopped shaking, but was still trying to hide his body. Sun got up and ran back to his cave to get something. His Mom was asleep, so she wouldn't ask questions.

Sun came back to the mer with a blue sweater. It was a little big, but he thinks they would like it. He kneeled down and held out the sweater. "Here! Consider this as a gift!" Sun smiled big and bright, showing off his sharp teeth as well. The mer looked surprised. As if it wasn't used to this kind of affection. But he hesitantly took it and put it on.

It was a bit big. It hanged off one of his shoulders, and it was now wet, but it was soft and smelled nice! It smelled like Sun. Like the dirt and some lemon. And it was in his favorite color! Dark blue, to mach his tail, and it covered most of his scars, which was also a plus. Sun just smiled as he watched the mer hug himself. "Do you like it?" Sun asked. The mer nodded and, for the first time, had a softer look to his face.

"I'm glad. Oh! I almost forgot! I'm Sun. What's your name?" Sun looked at the mer, but the mer just kinda sad. Sun thought maybe he couldn't speak. "How about you point to something that resembles your name!" Sun said cheerfully. The mer looked happy again. He pointed to his cheek that had the moon on it.

"Moon? Is that your name?" Sun asked, Moon nodded. "I'm assuming you can't really talk, can you?" Moon once again nodded. "Can you make noses that other merpeople can hear?" Sun can now see if the rumors were true or not. Once again, Moon nodded.

It's been a couple of hours, and Sun and Moon have been having a good "talk." Sun taught Moon the best he could to speak English, and Moon taught Sun how to speak mer. The sun was going down as the sky slowly filled with red, orange, purple, and some pink. The stars slowly started to appear as the moon was fully in the sky.

Sun just now realized that Moon's tail.. was glowing! Most of the star patterns on him were glowing as well as the water around him. He looked so pretty. "Wow..." Sun looked like he was in a trance. Moon just smiled and watched as Sun looked at him in awe.

But Sun realized how late it was and was probably a good idea to head home. "I should go home. You should be safe here." Moon nodded before slightly jumping out of the water and giving Sun a hug. Sun happily took it.

When the pulled away Moon gave Sun a quick nuzzle with his nose before going back into the water. The glow from his tail slowly disappeared as he went further down. Sun blushed slightly but quickly got up and ran home to tell his Mom about the new friend he had made.

I hope yall are ready for part two! Also, sorry I've been gone so long. A lot has been happening. With homework and Christmas coming up and a new book I'm still working on and also just the lack of motivation.

Once again, I'm open to any requests as long as long as it has nothing to do with insist, forced sex, and anything inappropriate with minors. I don't even want to see Sun x child reader or something.
