Evelyn didn't particularly care for many of the vampires she was housed with recently, only bothering to learn a select few names after the demise of so many in such a short time.
whether it was just that they stayed in the back mostly minding their own business, or a more sinister reason of using them for their abilities; Fred, Diego, Shelley, And Steve.
the latters had hightailed it out of there the moment they had the chance, something she wish she couldve done with the two other vampires.
not wanting to dishearten the girls who were taking turns braiding each other's hair with her sour mood, evelyn slipped out of the dingy room without a sound.
being the early afternoon, the hallway was hectic and as precise as she was in her footing there was bound to be the knocking of shoulders.
she was just particularly lucky that by the time anyone tried to yank a limb from her body, evelyn had already drifted into the surrounding shadows.
it was even more difficult to find a shadow now than ever, with everyone getting busy for the oh so important attack on the vegetarian vampires.
wondering which lies the elder sutherland could muster up to tell a bunch of temperamental newborns this time around, evelyn had no choice but to be left in the dark, with her thoughts scattered.

her utter disbelief must've shown on her face as riley stated that, "four days of the year vampires could roam in the sun harm free", when bree glanced quizzically towards her.
as soon as they were out of earshot, and in the privacy of evelyn's room, the darker haired girl began to question evelyn. when she finally lashed out in a hushed voice "bree, we don't burn in the sun at all. we just glow brightly, turning into what your generation refers to as 'disco balls.'" her red hair whirled in the air as evelyn made sure nobody heard the confession she made.
it was almost as if time had paused, the human eye wouldn't see the slight suck in of air bree had done before she began to spring into a tangent rant "w—what do you mean we 'sparkle' in the sun like a bunch of disco balls! that's, no! i refus-" before being able to finish a hand was clamped over her mouth effectively quietening the brunette.
"i'd rather the entire compound not know that my ever conniving sister has.. once again lied to you all." evelyn uttered raising her brow in a way to signify that if she took her hand off bree's mouth, she'd comply and be a tad bit less reverberating.
"which means i lied to you aswell, im sorry." the taller vampire said trying to express her regret; but she's never been good at showing emotions and the lack of it on her face wasn't helping her case.
she might not have been able to show them on her face, but she was able to give them in gifts and acts of affection so she attempted to open her arms awkwardly hoping she had not ruined florence's chance for a friend aswell as her own.
thankfully the newborn rushed into her awaiting arms, though evelyn wasn't sure if it was based only because on her heightened emotions. bree very well could hate her the moment she's more in control of herself, which was a thought that made evelyn's mind race.
"lie to me again though, and i'll use the newborn strength. trust." the younger one said with a scrutinizing grin plastered onto her face. "if i do, you may tear my head from my shoulders." agreed the redhead noting the flabbergasted expression on bree's face when she countered with a "way too graphic.. way too graphic," as she shivered slightly in evelyn's arms from the picture that was now conjured in her mind.
"don't be upset with florence though, she wanted to tell you this entire time it was me who convinced her not to just incase.." trailing off at the end of the sentence realizing no matter how she tried to word it, it most likely wouldn't sound too good.
with a nod into the crook of her shoulder, bree's arms tightened for a slight second before letting go and stepping back. "i figured.. it's florence after all" she retorted with a slight giggle in her voice.

almost as if she was summoned by hearing her name — florence appeared in the doorway with a mock look of upset on her pouted face "i can't believe you two forgot about me and had your own bonding session, absolutely mind-boggling!" the younger ginger vocalized tossing her hands into the air for good measure as she entered the room.
already accustomed to her sister's antics, evelyn didn't bother to dignify the girls response with a reply. unlike bree who began almost panicking that she could've potentially upset her newest, and closest friend. with a shake of her head, she reiterated that florence was just 'humorous' like that — or attempted to be in evelyn's books.
the joyful moment didn't last for long sadly, as other members began to wander around the hallways themselves preparing for the battle and getting their supposed 'needed supplies' although none of the trio knew what would be considered needed supplies in this context.
they were quite literally on their way to rip up other vampires.. which once again evelyn still had to figure out how she'd manage to redirect atleast the youngest two, the last second away from the battle to the sidelines for their safety.
"i suppose it's almost time, whatever you both do stay close to me and keep your ears open.. please" she added on at the last second realizing she had likely come across as bossy.
"we were kept out of victorias plans, and i have no clue what we're walking into, okay?" putting her hands atop of both girls shoulders, and giving them a stern look before indicating that evelyn truly wasn't interested in them causing any mischief today especially considering that riley could call for them anytime.
speak of the devil and he should speak, the newly turned boy hollered from somewhere in the compound for everyone to get their 'asses' out there, something that made evelyn scoff audibly. ruffling the girls hair slightly with an encouraging smile forced onto her face, the oldest had no choice but to begin leading them out to what could very well be their demise.
