(Y/N)'s POV

I was working in my lab, preparing another batch of chemtech for Miss Glasc. She called me her top producer. I knew she was just yanking my chain and didn't really think that highly of me, but i still liked it. My wife Amanda came.

Amanda: (Y/N), honey, you in here?

(Y/N): Over here, dear!

Amanda: Ugh, you still working?

(Y/N): Yeah, you know we need this.

Amanda: I know, i know, but can't you take a break for an hour or two? Orianna always asks me where you are, what am i supposed to tell her? That you prefer your work over spending time with your family?

Orianna was our four year old daughter. She walked up to me and hugged my leg. I sighed and picked her up. 

(Y/N): I'm sorry, dear. Daddy has a lot of work to do.

I nuzzled my nose against hers and made her giggle. I looked at Amanda.

(Y/N): Forgive me for taking so much time, but you know we need the money. How are we going to pay for Ori's education? Zaun isn't exactly the perfect place to raise a child. 

I gave Orianna to her.

Amanda: We wouldn't have been struggling if you'd let me work. 

I rubbed her belly. We were waiting our second child.

(Y/N): I'll never allow it. You shouldn't get yourself overworked. You must rest.

She pouted. 

Amanda: Well... Do what you think is best.

She turned around to leave.

Amanda: See you when you're done.

Orianna: Da... ddy...

I smiled and slowly waved at her. As soon as they left, i let out a deep sigh.

(Y/N): It's worth it... For them...

Timeskip

I was making a delivery to Miss Glasc. It was so much, i had to rent a truck to bring everything. Her workers were unloading the contents of the truck.

(Y/N): Okay, so we have: 750 chem bombs, 500 life-injectors, and 50 Chem missles.

Renata: Always good to make business with you, Mr. (L/N). Here's your pay.

She gave me a suitcase full of money. 

(Y/N): Thank you, ma'am.

Renata: A pleasure. You know, a position in my lab just opened up. Interested?

(Y/N): R-Really? You mean it?

Renata: Do i look like i'm joking?

(Y/N): S-Sorry... What i meant to say was yes. When can i start?

Renata: Right away.

(Y/N): Thank you, but i have to tell my family and gather my stuff first. 

Renata: Whatever you need. I'll send you one of my trucks to load your equipment. 

I nodded and started walking away. It wasn't long before i heard shouting around the corner of one of the houses, so i went to investigate. I got confused when i saw Amanda fighting with an unknown man.
