Today was an interesting day. You woke up stressed, tired, and with hair full of knots. You are still trying to comprehend what had happened. You shook your head, not that it helped as it only made you more lightheaded.
Since you were in the bathroom you knew you might as well help yourself. You stood in front of the bathroom mirror, untangling the knots in your hair, a sudden knock on the front door startled you. You thought of Leon, but that couldn't be possible. He's a cop that works late, and plus it's still morning.
You race downstairs, already distressed. As you make your way to the front door you opened it cautiously, and there stood Claire Redfield, holding a cup of coffee and a sympathetic smile. 'Rough morning?' they asked, offering the coffee.
"Claire!" You screamed out, running up to her to embrace her in a hug. Claire was your childhood friend, inseparable and always found doing everything together. That was until she went to college and joined TerraSave. "W-Why are you here?" You ask, gesturing her to come in.Claire walked in taking a deep breath, she crossed her arms and turned around leaning on the wall next to you. "Well, I moved to this neighborhood recently seeing it had a better benefit. I didn't expect to see you living here though in this huge house!"
You scoffed walking towards her, putting your hands into your pockets. "Well, welcome to the neighborhood Claire Bear." That was her nickname back then, when they did everything together of course.Claire laughed at it, closing her eyes while her head leaned back, her iconic laugh. "I can't believe you remember that! I missed you so much..." She hugged you again, this time tighter.
"So, how was TerraSave? You still in it?" You asked, backing out the hug. Now leaning back and forth on your tip toes as you try to engage in a conversation with her.
"Ah... it was fun while it lasted. But I'm out now. Those viruses were terrible... luckily this guy named Leon was a big help though." She chuckled, shaking her head as if she was in disbelief.
You stood there shocked, blinking a bit as if that would change anything. "L-Leon?" Maybe it was a different one, or maybe it was him... but he's just a cop, right? "What's his last name?" You asked eagerly, taking out your phone, rushing to the contacts app.
Claire hummed, tilting her head as she tried to remember. "Gosh, it has been years..." Your phone was pushed to her face all of a sudden, making Claire step back a bit in surprise. She winced at the phone as she grabbed it, studying the contact photo. Her eyes then widen, a grin plastered on her face, "That's him!"
You snatch the phone back to analyze the photo next, not as if you haven't been observing it the whole-time last night. "B-But he's just a cop-"
"Federal agent~" She hummed, taking a sip of her coffee she just remembered she had in her hand. "Well..." She suddenly faded a bit down, her grin disappearing. "He was. He could've retired to a regular police officer though..."
She then shrugged her shoulders after a long train of thought, walking back up to you as she grabbed your shoulders shaking you a bit. "It was SO nice to see you again, I hope we can have more visits."
You were a bit too stunned to speak, nodding your head in agreement as you watched her pace to the front door. Almost dropping her coffee as, the doorknob shocked her. She then opens the door making her way out, with a quick bye she closes the door shut.
"Leon..." You mutter to yourself.
The sudden reappearance of your childhood friend, Claire, and the revelation about Leon's involvement with TerraSave and his role as a federal agent have left you in a state of shock. As Claire departs, you find yourself standing in the doorway, mulling over the unexpected twists of the day.
