Roxanne Weasley grinned as she and her family made their way through the crowded station packed with muggles. It was a beautiful morning, cold and shining.
"Keep going Roxanne," said her one and only brother, Fred.
"Yeah. I'm coming," she said and hurried to catch up.
They reached a stone column that divided platform 9 from platform 10 and stopped.
"Okay Fred. You first." said Roxanne's mother, Katie. The tall lanky sixteen year old nodded and bent low over his trolly. He stepped forward and gradually gained speed. To a normal person it would look like he was going to run into the column that divides platform nine from platform ten. But to a wizard, he knew that Fred must be a student of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. And he would also know that this was the one and only entrance in Kings Cross station that led to Platform 9 ¾. the platform that all students took to get to the school.
Roxanne was led by her father, George, into the brick column. She soon reappeared on the other side, completely unharmed. George followed after her and helped her load her trunk onto the train. Percy Weasley stood by the door watching the students loading up their stuff, looking on with an air of authority. Roxanne and George made their way through the crowded platform and soon found Katie and Fred accompanied with Harry and Ginny, and Ron and Hermione.
"Where's Bill?" asked George, peering around the group.
"Dunno. I think he's with Victoire loading up her stuff," said Ginny. Lily, who was Harry and Ginny's daughter, stood next to her. Her brothers, James and Albus, appeared by her side. James' face lit up when he saw Roxanne.
"You ready then?" he asked her. Roxanne grinned.
"For sure," she said. Lily sniffed.
"Honestly I wouldn't want to go to school. I'll keep you in mind when I'm at home enjoying myself."
"Oh really?" said Hugo, her cousin. "And what about last year when you bawled your eyes out? Mum, I'm going to help Rose find a compartment. You coming, Lil?" he asked. Lily nodded and followed her cousin to the train. Albus hugged his mum and dad, said goodbye then followed his sister and cousin, intending to find his other cousin.
"You do realize that this will be Victoire's last year at Hogwarts?" Ginny asked Katie. Katie nodded.
"Time sure flies, doesn't it? Before we know it she'll be getting married."
James and Roxanne, being the only non adults left, said goodbyes to their parents, promising to send owls as soon as they were settled. As they were walking away, Harry reminded them about tea with Hagrid, and their mothers warned about what they'd have to do if they forgot to feed their owls, before they were finally set free.
Roxanne followed her cousin into the train and quickly found a compartment. James sat down in the seat next to the window and Roxanne plopped down in the seat opposite him.
"Finally. I never thought we'd be leaving," James sighed. He leaned back and placed his hands on the back of his head, completely at ease. The train blew a warning whistle and soon began to move. Roxanne sighed with content as the train made its way past the station and into the countryside. Roxanne and James mostly made small talk. They discussed the newest move that their hero, Theo Hardy, had performed against the Chudley Cannons the previous Thursday. Theo was a seeker for the Tornados and they both had admired him for years. It was common knowledge that his kids, Daphne and Dillane Hardy, were attending Hogwarts. The Daily Prophet had said that Theo normally educated his kids privately for the fear of losing them after the trauma of losing his wife Evelynn during the twins' birth.
"I wonder what year they're in?" James asked.
"And what house?" put in Roxanne. At that exact moment the compartment door slid open and Albus and Rose stepped in. They were not alone. Behind them stood Lily and Hugo. James jumped out of his seat in complete astonishment.
"what the--how did you--why are they--" he gestured towards the two frightened stowaways. Lily burst into tears. Roxanne sat flabbergasted as Lily and explained between sobs how they had lost track of time and they didn't get off the train in time, and something about how the train seemed to have been attacked.
"I didn't understand a word of what you just said, but we need to figure out how to get you back to your mum and dad." James said. Lily nodded, her lip quivering. Rose and Albus sat down in the seats next to Roxanne. Lily sat on James's right side and Hugo on James's left.
