The morning sun shone brightly through the dorm window, the sounds of birds chirping filled the air as Ember got up. The other three seemed to already be getting ready for the day. She yawned as her arms stretched out above her head. "Good morning!" Kari said. Ember waved at the girl, hopping off the bed. She thought for a moment, she examined the other three people and their structures. She blanked out for a second and just stared at the wall for a moment. Forgetting about her little blank, she looked at Rane who was fiddling around with their glass disc.

Rane turned and smirked at the barely awake girl. Ember turned away and slowly walked to the washroom to change. After a few minutes she walked out now wide awake with her heterochromic eyes scanning the room like a predator looking for its prey. "The school has a few activities for new students. It's optional though." Kari said. "I'll pass, I need to meet up with some people. Didn't get to last night." Ember responded. She turned to Rane, with annoyance written all over her face.

The other just rolled their eyes, "Not my fault you invaded my space." The two were now staring daggers at each other, and the twins were in quite the situation. "Well, we should get going, have a good day!" Kari stated. She grabbed her brother's hand and sped walked out the door leaving the two alone. Ember kept staring, then she cocked her head to the side. "Aren't you a wanted criminal?" She questioned. Rane chuckled, "Well aren't you clever. Yes I am. My bounty is almost as high as yours." Ember showed no emotion, though it was pretty impressive that someone could have a bounty almost as high as hers. "What kingdoms are you wanted in?" Ember asked. "You ask too many questions." Rane responded with a hint of hostility in their voice. Ember stayed quiet and continued to await the other's answer. "Mostly Lavelle since I was born there. Though, I am wanted in Atarah as well."

"Hm. You're quite brave to come all the way to The Capital." Ember said. Rane was about to say something else before the other calmly walked out the door. They scoffed and continued fiddling with their disc.

Afina and Quinn were peacefully sitting on a bench in the garden. Students were loudly chatting around them as Ember forcefully pushed through a couple. The two turned their heads to face Ember. "Where were you last night?" Afina asked. "Got into some mischief with someone in my dorm." Ember replied, sitting in front of them. Afina sighed, "Of course you did." Ember twirled a few strands of her long black hair, "They're powerful. So is another person." The two widened their eyes. There were more people with abilities in the school? Though, they weren't that surprised, given the fact that most who had power who were still eligible to go to school did so to blend in. Seeing a few wasn't a problem, it was only about five so far. "Oh, there are boys in my dorm One has a girl twin though." Ember stated. "Go ask to be put in another dorm if you don't wanna be there." Quinn said. Ember scoffed and let go of her hair, "I already did before I came out here. That damn receptionist said it couldn't be changed." Afina chuckled, "Well, at least there's another girl with you." Ember sighed, "I guess. Though one of the people is annoying as fuck." Afina chuckled, "It's only your first day and you're already complaining? How pitiful." Ember death glared her and Afina shut up. 'Pitiful'. What a pathetic word, only used for the weakest, and Ember was certainly the weakest.

Quinn just looked at the two, noticing something odd, "What happened to your eyes? Both of them weren't blue before. One was green." Ember turned to face the confused boy. "My eyes are one of the only ways people can recognize me, so I must hide it." Before Quinn could ask another question the speakers on the lampposts began to static. "Attention all students. Please report to the lecture hall for important announcements for the upcoming school year." The woman's voice echoed through the garden and school building as students started to clamor through the halls.
