"Ugh, why did you choose to live in such a forest?“ Layla mumbled to herself. She had been waking through this dark foreboding forest for what seemed to be hours. Though time was one of the many things you would be uncertain of in this place. Her hands had swift movement, and though she was quite annoyed, her body was calm and controlled. She flung her wrist at a few vines, making them flow to the side, creating a clear path for the woman to walk through.

It was very quiet, aside from the occasional bird flying overhead. Layla knew she was getting closer to her destination as the vines grew thicker while she trudged through the bush. At last, she came to a clearing, the sun showed dazzlingly through the branches, and numerous kinds of flowers and plants bloomed all around. If only the rest of the forest was as bright and alluring. Layla looked around, no one was there. She dug her feet into the ground, forming her body into a stance. “I know your their~” she said. A loud chuckle could be heard echoing all around the stanced woman. “Aw, c'mon Lay. You know how much I like the element of surprise.“ A girl popped her head from the top of the clearing right in from of Layla.

Her eyes were almost completely black, but her skin was as bright as the sun itself and she had short orange hair that was black at the ends. She let out another chuckle before falling to the ground and guiding Layla around the clearing, most likely to her quarters. “So, how's the forest been?“ Layla asked. The girl smiled, “Oh the usual. A few dangerous creatures here, a few corpses there. Nothing too exciting.“ Layla hummed. They reached a large tree that had a small wooden door, and two small windows carved beside it. The girl opened the door and made a dramatic bow, making Layla chuckled before doing a small 'curtsy' and walking in. The inside was much larger than you would anticipate, instead of a hollow tree, it was more like a wooden mansion. Stairs spiraled upward into the upper floor and beautiful decorations and furniture covered the room. It also had a peaceful aura that would make you feel like it was your own home, though it would only be a silly daydream.

"I see you've updated the place.“ Layla smiled as she looked around. The girl chuckled, “Well, being the powerful being I am, changing a tree into a mansion is like taking candy from a baby.“ Layla scoffed at the petty response, “Oh please. All you can do it bend realities and control time and space.“ “And what can you do? Basically the same thing!“ They both chuckled, “You haven't changed a bit Asteria .“ Asteria smiled, “Neither have you, now why are you here? You hate going through there.“

The other party frowned a bit, barely noticed by the other, “There was a massacre recently in the city of Cyra.“ Asteria snickered, “I'm guessing it was small, nothing exiting ever happens in the Core Empire, let alone one of its main cities.“ She rolled her eyes and her friend huffed, “It was rather large. Destroyed so much you could see it from miles away.“ This didn't seem like something of Asteria's interest, massacres happens, things were destroyed, it was like saying 'Im throwing a party' to someone in prison. Wouldn't be that important to them, would it? “So? Why is this supposed to be important to me?“ Layla smirked, “Because that little girl caused it. Along with some new acquaintances.“ That made Asteria perk up, she smiled a bit and her eyes sparkled with anticipation. She turned all her attention to Layla, although she already knew what she was going to say. “You and I have some issues with her, and since the king granted me permission to help catch her, I thought, 'Who better to help me than my best friend'?“ Layla smirked. Asteria couldn't help but giggle in excitement, “You know me too well!“ She laughed. Layla chuckled at the other's reaction, a eerie grin creeping up her face.

"Wait, can we kill her?“ Asteria asked, her own cheeky grin creeping up to her lips. Layla frowned a bit and let out a nervous chuckle. “No. But, I'm sure his majesty won't mind us hurting her a bit. Her friends will be an extra treat.“ Asteria nodded, her eyes seeming to sparkle at the thought. Just like old times, maybe even better. She squealed and flew upside down. Layla laughed slightly and waited for Asteria to calm down a bit. “This'll be so exciting! Just like when we were younger.“ Asteria stood on the ground again and her dark eyes sparkled again. Layla nodded and stood up, looking down at the other, the eerie grin still spread across her face. “Well, how should we proceed with this then? The king cannot know you still exist, so, we must be cautious.“ Asteria nodded. She thought for a moment, placing a hand in her chin and the other at her waist.

She paced the large room a bit before an idea popped into her head, making her giggle. “What if, I pretended to be mortal?“ Layla stood there shocked at the proposal. Mortal? A disguise was a good idea but mortal? The thought disgusted her. “Mortal? Asteria, your an ex-celestial. We could at least think of a more flattering disguise.“ Layla scoffed and crossed her arms. Asteria rolled her eyes and floated upsidedown in front of the other. “No need to remind me. But do you have any better ideas? I'd rather pretend to be a weak mortal being than have the king catch me and start drama like he always does.“ Layla sighes and shook her head. “Where do we start?“ Asteria smirked and guided Layla to another room filled with outfits neither of them would be caught dead in.

"Why do you have these?“ Layla questioned. Asteria shrugged, “Because why not.“ Layla sighed and then briefly scanned the pleathera of outfits. “Well, your not gonna fit in them when your the size of a celestial.“ Layla snickered. Asteria rolled her eyes and solemnly shrunk herself down to the size of an average human woman. She grumbled as she looked at the Layla, who was now much taller than her. “Don't even bother to gloat.“ She sneered.
Layla just chuckled again and started looking through outfits. Eventually, she found a decent one. A beautiful medium length dress with gold patterns scattered along the red fabric, and blue ruffles along the sleeves. “Ooo~ Core Empire's colors. Perfect.“ Asteria said. She looked at the dress and admired it for a few seconds before nodding at Layla. Layla nodded back. “You think he'll buy it?“
