It was quiet morning, with little beams of light peeking in through my cloth curtains. I removed my covers over me and yawned stretching my arms up as far as they will go, getting ready for the day. Tiredly walking to my wardrobe taking out my black dress, slipping it on. I got my black corset and began tying it at the back, tightening it as much as I could. Walking down the wooden steps leisurely to the back door of my house, to the berry crops in the woods.
The sun barely soared through the dense forest tree's, which I found very soothing. Most of the time my skin would turn a deep rouge, that would sting after a day. That's why I where long sleeves and a long dress to ensure that I wasn't going to be burnt at all, my face not so much it was just my arms and legs, because my face would be cover with my Y/H/C. Swinging my basket around with me as I strode deeper in the wood's. I found my mind was at ease just being in the forest, giving me a joyous content of being alone, without anyone accusing me of being an immortal blood-sucking creature. Or glaring at me as I walked past the market stalls. Whenever I went to the market stalls in the cottage, I would get these death-like stares burning into my soul, I would get what I need, and they would make me pay triple the price. So instead, here I am now growing my own crops to gain my own nutrition.
I picked a each of my honey locust tree fruit from the branches, as I stretched my arms as far as I could. I jumped out of my skin as I heard a wind that whooshed behind me. I thought to myself 'no human could ever run that fast', my heart raced for moments, but I continued what I was doing, not worrying of the unusualness of the forest. Plucking one more of my wild apples to go with my apple pie. I ended up pricking my finger on a thorn from the wild apple tree, I flinched dropping the apple. I clasped my finger, glancing at my finger every now and then until I heard running of the speed of light behind me once again. Frightening myself I tripped and fell on my back; pain shook through the lower end of my back making me hiss in anguish. I sat with the aid of the tree beside me leaning on it with my elbow, my hand led to my back clenching it to hopefully relieve a bit of the pain racking through my body.
I stared down at my flesh opened finger from the thorn that pricked me, peering at it intently. wanting to have a taste of my own blood of flesh. I felt the urge to turn around as sweet breaths blew down my neck softly, my breath hitched as animal growling was heard behind me. I whipped my body around ready to face what was behind...
But nothing...I was met with the darkness of the inner woods. I quickly got my basket in hand and running. As soon as I turned and ran, rapid feet were catching up to my struggling ones. Once I was free from the darkness, I jerked my door open, slamming it shut behind me and locking it. I was safe...
As night came upon the light. I laid in my sweet wooden cabin house as candles burned in my corner of the house, I was tranquil in this place. Ever since I moved here to get a better life when my parents left me at the orphanage, I always felt like something was missing a part of my life that I didn't quite understand yet. I disturb out of my silence when a glint of torch lit the windows behind my curtain, while amplified yelling and cussing were approaching.
Startled, I jumped out of my chair creeping to the window, observing the towns people that encroached over the peak of the cottage, with pitch forks waving in the air and torches that ignited that night. My eyes widened, and there was no time to get anything I needed from my cabin. I sprinted out the back door taciturnly, fleeing with nothing but hope to hold on to. I hid behind a tree once I made it over to the darkness of the forest, watching my only home that got destroyed in front of my eyes, disintegrating into nothing.
Tears threatened to escape, but I couldn't not now. Trudging cautiously deeper into the forest, as only the moon itself only lit the little holes through the trees. I found that from a long way that I walked away from my home, there was a bit of light in the dark. At least I won't have to deal with the undeniable, arrogant, resistance against me again...
I kept my pace, weakening by minutes. All I know is that I was very distant from the cottage now, I can't turn back, not when they were threatening their pitch forks and torches. In my own mind I thought I was hearing things, a river flowing nearby. I saw it up a head, following the sounds of water splashes. When I made it to the stream of water, collapsing on my knees and cupping the water in my hands, relieving my parched throat. I rolled over on my back, crunching the dry leaves under my body. And my eyes heavily closed...
"Hey jack, ava. Look at her", blurry almost inaudible voice was heard "Is this the girl that you saw in the woods?", "Yes, it is...she's beautiful". More leaves crunched near my body "She looks like a half-blood. I don't think mothers going to approve Thomas". A sigh and a touch of my forehead down to my chin tenderly moved down my face "Well, mother and father have been wanting me to find a wife, haven't they?" my body was lifted from the ground into a cold embrace that felt comforting, strong muscly arms slipped around my waist, bringing me close to the body.
I opened my eyes to see this beauty that I've never seen before. Dirty blonde hair, a pale white face and eyes that grew red staring into my own...he gave a warm smile.
With that all noise cut out...
