Reader is referred to as Viper. (female reader/pronouns)

Narrator's pov.
The men had just finished their training session, the longest but thankfully the last one for the week.

Price, while reluctant, gave them the green light to rest on Sunday since they'd covered a mission the previous week and wouldn't have one for the remainder of the month.

Ghost stood with his hands on his knees, catching his breath before standing straight and walking to the entrance of the locker rooms to take a shower.

There, he bumped into Daz. They exchanged conversation, asking about the agenda and whatnot.

Mid conversation, Daz slips something out.

"Ya ready to meet Viper?" he asks, folding his cloth. Ghost freezes, his head snapping to Daz.

"Who?" He asks, needing confirmation.

"Cinco 'Viper' Whitlock. Sure you've heard of her." he says, not really bothering to look at Ghost who stood firm, his fists now clenched.

[Sin-co]

"Yeah. Heard of her. When are we supposed to meet her?" and why wasn't he informed?

"By tonight. Meeting. Price forgot to inform everyone cause he had to leave early; we need her for an alliance thing. Handling the drug cartels."

Shit.

Cinco? Why now?

It's been two years. You're supposed to be over it. he told himself over and over but it was like reading the same sentence not knowing the meaning.

Two years ago they'd split. Two years ago he left.

For the better, that's what he thought.

Over those two years there was change. Over those two years, Cinco built herself up to a high rank. To being the best soldier in Russia. Those two years, she completely changed herself.

All over his words.

"I don't fucking need a woman like you." he'd seethed.

So she turned herself around. She was not the woman she was before, but Ghost didn't know that.

But now, he does. Upon further investigation he found her recent files, courtesy to Price. New medals, new awards.

New hee.

Now, they sat waiting for her arrival in the meeting room. Ghost tried to keep himself calm but couldn't help but clench his fists as he kept his gaze stuck on the table ahead.

It felt like an eternity before Soap voiced out.

"She's here."

The door opened.

She steps in.

3 guards behind her.

"Viper." Price says, smiling and holding his hand out. "Good to see ya again."

"Likewise." she voices. She turns toward the room before she locks eyes with the man right across the room.

Her eyes, piercing right through him.

It almost hurt the way she looked at him. Cold, reserved. Completely detached from everything they'd had.

He took in her complexion, a new scar running across her cheek down to her neck. Her eyes look darker now but her cheekbones were higher. She was visibly physically better than she was before.
