Mission-5 The outside

This chapter takes place 6 months after the events that take place in chapter 4.

You wake up to Kai pushing you and speaking in an excited voice "It's safe to come outside y/n, c'mon Henderson said it's time to go,". With a groan you get up and grab your stuff. You look up at Kai realizing he has changed since you found him. His hair is getting darker, skin still pale but not as pale as before, and his personality has changed he opened up after a while in the bunker. You walk towards the door of the bunker and open it the hallways are still the same bloody mess as before but something changed. Henderson walks up to you and says "I have a surprise for you it's from one of the scientists, come I tell you on the way over. Let's go everyone," you walk along side Henderson as he explains what he found "ok so do you remember using a bow during your lifetime?" Henderson asked. "Yeah I used to, why does that matter now?" You reply. "Well one of the scientists was into hunting and found a way to make a bow much stronger and lighter for combat purposes. I found the bow and we are heading over now I also believe that the arrows used for it are also still there," Henderson said. You haven't used a bow in a while but the exercises you used to build muscle back may help with using one.

After a while of walking you stop at a door that has a scanner on it, Henderson puts his hand and opens the door he then comes back with a bow that looks as if it is two bows in one in a x formation with springs and locks to help keep an arrow knocked. Henderson walks up to you and hands you the bow and puts your middle finger in a specific groove in the grip. The bow makes a clicking sound and the bows string twitches. "Ok now try using it," Henderson says. You pull the string back with minimal effort. Then you try lifting your middle finger then the string won't even budge no matter how hard you pull. You the. Hear Kai yelling from down the hall and running with something in his hand. "Y/n Henderson me and Gloria found working walking talkings," he yelled. Henderson smiles and asks "well is there enough for everyone,". Kai responds with "yes, these people in high tech armor gave them to us. They call themselves the order," Henderson pauses then says "well then take us to them,". "Already here," says a voice from down the hall "Billie it's been so long. Glad to see you alive,". You look back at Henderson and see his eyes wide with surprise he tries to speak as it seems he is struggling to find his words. "M-m... Maya. Your alive! Oh god I thought I would be able to see your face again," Henderson ran at Maya and gave her a hug. You stood there confused as you've never seen Henderson actually smiling.

"Hey Henderson, who is she?" You ask. "Oh sorry ," he said as he stopped hugging "this is my wife and director of Biomechanical technology Maya,". You make an oh gesture and walk over to Gloria who was hanging back a bit giving the reunited couple room. "Wait the order is that what you call your group?" You ask. "Yes," Maya says "we are a faction that wants to preserve human life and bring us back to an advanced society,". "Wait does that mean there are other factions out there?" Henderson asks. Maya nods and begins to explain what the other factions are "there are 6 factions in total ours and then the Roadrunners: their  territory consist of a race track like zone around the city and are craftsman just ask them and pay them then you get what you want. The Children of the Sun: they take up the mountains north of the city and focus on mastering their powers and medicines. The Berserks: they are a mercenary faction pay them enough and they kill anything you ask. The Hell Razers: they take up the north east part of the city and love to burn and destroy what ever they like. Finally The Luna Hunters: they make traps that are used against the cursed and teach others basic survival skills to keep others alive. All of us are currently allying to get rid of any threats then we'll be out of each others way,". You follow Maya to the outside where a few hundred people are roaming it seems the base has been fortified as a place for shopping and socializing.

You immediately wander off into the market and look around for a while until you hear Maya and Henderson on the radio. "Hey y/n come to the tower in the middle of the court yard we have something for you,". You walk around looking for the entrance to the tower and when you finally find it the guard at the door stops you verifies your visit and lets you in. You look around and see Henderson standing there he waved at you and called you towards him. "Y/n I'm going to stay here to mass produce the cure and maybe hope to make one where we can fully revive people from possession. But we need to keep the peace inside the city so you will venture off and learn what ever you can from the other factions and make do whatever tasks necessary to gain their trust and keep this alliance alive. Got it?" Henderson said. You nod in response, but before you could run off into the freedom of the city Henderson hands you some type of money for you to get supplies. You get a small backpack and fill it with food and water, a pistol which you holster at your hip, gloves, climbing boots, running pants, a shortened machete, and lastly a thing called a grapple rope. The store owner said "just swing it and throw then pull and you'll be able to climb pretty much anything," so you bought it thinking it'll work. Before you make it to the gate you see Gloria and Kai in the courtyard walking around. Gloria in forms you that she is going to care for Kai from now on and make sure he is safe since he doesn't have anyone else. You huge them both goodbye and head to the main gate of the base. You exit the base through the main gate and immediately get greeted by cursed and you start chopping them down but as you cut them you realize that there is a liquid something is dripping out of the blade. You grab your radio and call up Henderson "hey Henderson what is dripping out of my weapon currently?" You ask. "Oh that, that's just a liquid made from a special herb that is known to weaken the cursed so you can have a better advantage in battle,". "That actually makes sense," you think to your self and get off call.
