wednesdays child is full of woe pt 5 of 6

HERMIONE

Wednesday and I were sitting in the booth waiting for Tyler to finish work when some pilgrim boys walked through the doors of the weathervane. 

“What's a freak out in the wild? One boy asked 

They come pretty much every day but I never bothered to know their names. But what I do know is that one of them is the mayor's son. 

“This is our booth.” the chubby one said. 

I put my coffee down and turned to them “i don't see your name on it, pilgrim” 

“Why are you dressed like religious fanatics?” Wednesday asked, looking them all up and down. 

 “Were pilgrims” one of them said like it was obvious 

“potato , po-tah-to” 

“We work at pilgrim world” he flipped the leaflet that was on the table. 

“It takes a special kind of stupid to devote an entire theme park to zealots responsible for mass genocide” 

“My dad owns the pilgrim world,” said the mayor's son. “Who you calling stupid?” 

“He looks like a pug,” I whispered to wednesday. She gave me a small smile before turning her attention back to the pilgrims 

“If the buckled shoe fits' ' she glared at him. 

Tyler walked up behind them pulling the ‘leader’ back by his shoulder. “Guys back off” 

The pilgrim pushed him off “stay out of this Galpin”  

Wednesday stood up “yes stay out of this” 

I grabbed her by her hand “what are you doing” 

“Nothing, just sit there and don't move, don't want you to get hurt.” 

“So tell me… freak. You ever been with a normie?” he got in her face 

I cringed “dude, was that supposed to be a pick up line? If it was, that was terrible. No wonder girls dont like you” 

“I've never found one that can handle me, an outcast however.” she looked over her shoulder at me. 

The two had a stare off, not making any moves until wednesday jumped at him 

“Boo” he backed off 

The chubby one came up behind her and grabbed her, so I stood up. Not wanting her to get hurt. 

I grabbed his hand and twisted it, he eventually got out of my hold and tried to punch me but I dodged it. 

The two of us knocked them all down, Tyler looked at us surprised. “So where’d you learn them kung fu moves?” he asked Wednesday as I sat back down and drank the rest of my coffee. 

“My uncle taught me, he spent five years in tibetan monastery”

“Was he a monk?” 

“Prisoner” 

The sheriff came through the door, looking at the three boys on the floor 

“Dad” tyler said looking at him 

“Tyler , what the hell’s going on here?” 

“They were harassing her and hermione, so they put them in there place”
