[TW: VIOLENCE]

NOAH'S POV:

I walked into my room, throwing my bag next to my bedside table and slumping onto my bed. That boy, I couldn't stop thinking about him. He seemed so nice, but why was everybody so rude to him? I know he looks like a geek, but they should atleast give him a chance. I sat up and glanced at my computer, I have to study if I want to be perfect. I stood up and walked over to it, pulling the chair out from the table and sitting down.

I want to be perfect, for my family and friends. I know I seem sarcastic and rude, but I want to be better for everyone. I want to make them proud, everything has to be perfect because if it isn't, that makes me a failure. I ace all of my tests, I have good behaviour in classes, teachers like me, my parents adore me and if I don't try hard, that all goes away.

My phone vibrated in my pocket, I took it out and typed in my password. Owen had messaged me, saying he wanted to go to a party with me at Geoff's. I looked at my computer and back at my phone, I told him I couldn't go because I was busy and carried on. Yes, it was tempting, but I had to keep studying.

Soon later, I remembered the homework I had to do. I groaned, putting my head in my hands, but looked back up at my computer. All's I had to do was homework, a few more pages and then get changed for bed. It wouldn't take that long, right?

I typed and clicked until my fingers began to cramp, I had only done half at this time, and it was already 10pm. I was bored out of my mind, but I carried on. I needed to make sure I got good grade on the test coming up.

Soon enough, it had become way past midnight, and I only had a few hours left to sleep. But, I wasn't done. This was taking me ages, but I carried on, the glow of the screen being the only light in the room.

"Noah, honey, time to wake up!" I heard my mum shouting from downstairs, great, another night with no sleep. I got out of the chair and stretched, I was already ready since I stayed in my clothes last night. I had a test today, so I had to do good. I swung my bag over my shoulders and walked down the creaky stairs to face my mum. My hair must've been a mess, but I just had to get to school. I swung the door open, shutting it behind my and walking to school with a book in my hand.

As I sat in class, I heard the creak of the chair next to me, and a bag hitting the ground. I looked up to see Cody, who seemed exhausted. He looked all bruised and scratched too, I hope he's alright, it seems like he's going through alot. I watched the teacher hand out the tests, I groaned and grabbed a pen from my pencil case.

I watched as Cody grabbed a pen from his pocket, the clear plastic had been snapped in half, I sighed and gave him a better pen. I felt pretty bad for the guy, he seemed like he hadn't slept in years. He smiled at me and whispered 'thank you' before starting the test.

I handed in my test, walked back to my seat and watched Cody as he carried on with the test. I noticed his teal eyes, they were quite gorgeous. I also noticed his light-brown hair, and the way it basically glowed, it seemed silky and I really wanted to run my hands through it.

I turned back to the teacher who was marking the papers, then back at Cody who had finished. I slouched in my seat as he got up and gave his test to the teacher with a smile. That smile...

I grabbed my book from out of my bag and continued from the chapter I left off, it was some sort of hopeless-romance novel. I'm not the type of person to like romance, but this book was interesting. Not like those weird Y/N Wattpad fanfictions.

Cody sat down next to me and read the book over my shoulder, I didn't mind, surprisingly. He read it out loud in whispers and stutters, it seemed like he enjoyed reading, but struggled. He's definitely the type of person to prefer comic's over huge, chunky books, like what I was reading. He seemed like a nice person, honestly, I kind of wanted to be his friend.

I smiled and carried on reading, trying not to pay attention to Cody.
I heard laughing and giggling from the back of the classroom, I turned to see the boys from the other day who threw the paper at Cody. I rolled my eyes and carried on reading.

When the bell finally rang, I put my book back into my bag and walked out into the busy corridor. I looked for my locker, but then I heard talk of a fight after school or somebody jumping someone else. I didn't hear the names, but I was definitely gonna show up to it. After many classes, I walked to the canteen to see Owen, Izzy and Eva sat around a table, I sat next to Owen.

"Hey, have you heard that Duncan's gonna jump that geek after school?" Eva asked, 'geek?' I hope It wasn't Cody.
"Yeah. But what 'geek'?" I replied, Eva looked back at me with a raised eyebrow.
"I forgot his name, but he has blue eyes and I'm pretty sure his name begins with a C, he's that one dude everybody makes fun of." She answered and turned back to Izzy with a smile. Eva smiling? That's abnormal...

After the last bell rang, everybody ran out to the gates, I was met with the sight of Duncan pushing and pulling Cody, that poor guy. I genuinely felt bad, everyone was on Duncan's side too.
