she apologizes even though she's on the knife's edge. on the brink of death. because she did wrong. disappointed her father. she apologizes for making him the monster that he is now. apologizes for disobeying. apologies that he'll never accept. apologies that he doesn't have the chance to properly hear because he's gone, on the brink of death, just like she is.
