Ayra felt the wind get knocked out of her as she fell to the floor. She groaned.

"Miss Black! Will you please get up from the floor?" Minerva said a bit sharply.

Ayra scrambled to get up, dusting her clothes. She looked around her. This was definitely not the orphanage.

People bustled about everywhere, most of them dressed in robes and pointy hats similar to the ones Minerva wore. She saw stores advertising things like cauldrons and potions and quills and robes.

Ayra turned to Minerva. "Where are we?"

Minerva smiled. "Miss Black, welcome to Diagon Alley."

Ayra and Minerva walked through Diagon Alley, Ayra holding plenty bags, trying not to drop any of them as she followed Minerva.

They had first been to Gringotts, where they had visited the Black family vault. Ayra's mouth had dropped at the small mountains of gold coins within the vault. Of course Minerva had only allowed her take a modest amount, just enough to buy her school things and other small expenses.

Then they had been to different stores, including Madame Malkin's Robe shop where they had spent longer than they needed to because Ayra kept moving as she was having her measurement taken, and Flourish and Botts where she had managed to knock down two shelves of books.

The two had somewhat bonded during the trip. Ayra bombarded Minerva with all sorts of questions about magic and Hogwarts, and even though Minerva acted annoyed whenever Ayra asked a particularly silly question or made a joke for fun, the tiny quirk of her lips upward said oherwise. Ayra found she quite liked Minerva and thought it fun to annoy her, finding the exasperated look she got on her face rather amusing.

Now as they walked, Ayra dug into her pocket for her school list, which proved harder to do as she struggled to balance the bags she had in her arms. "Where to next?" She asked.

"Well we still have to pick up your robes, get to some potion ingredients, a cauldron, a wand-"

"Oh! Can I get a wand first?" Ayra interrupted excitedly.

"No Miss Black." Minerva replied sternly without looking at her as she continued forward. "A wand can wait. And please do hurry along. We are terribly behind schedule. We spent way too much time at Flourish and Botts. " She said, finally turning to look at Ayra who was smiling innocently back at her.

They stopped in front of a store, its sign reading 'Magical Menagerie'.

She turned to look at Minerva but she was already making her way into the store, the door closing behind her.

Pushing the door open, she stepped into the store, the bell jingling as she did so. She walked round the store, looking around.

Cages lined the walls with animals of all sorts inside, ranging from normal ones like cats, rats and owls to rare ones like phoenixes and even to animals that she had never heard of before like Matagots, Crups, Kneazles, Murtlaps, and even some sort of creature the owner told Ayra was a Horklump.

Minerva however refused to let her get any of the animals she wanted.

''No Miss Black, you can't get a Moke as your familiar,'' sighed Minerva exasperatedly for the umpteenth time eyeing the small silver-green lizard in Ayra's hands disapprovingly, which had now begun to shrink in size.

''But-''

''Miss Black your list was very clear.''

Ayra sighed before reluctantly setting the creature which was now barely bigger than her thumb, back in its cage.
