╰┈➤ There was an immense euphoria over Emma Rose Routledge when she found the Merchant-Gold with her twin brother and the other Pogues.

It had been the last piece of the puzzle that was missing to have real proof that it wasn't just a simple fantasy of the Routledge family.

Instead, it is so real that six tokens of the gold, with the wheat symbol embossed on the front, are given through the hands of the Pogues at the round wooden table in the Chateau.

From Megan to JJ, everyone had one to keep to themselves and Emma looked up from hers, running her thumb absently over it as she looked at her twin brother with a joy in her green eyes that was based on immeasurable love, so that she shines with all her heart.

This is one thing that was so significant mainly because they did it together. Because the Pogue Princess's life had turned a hundred and eighty degrees the moment she set foot on the island. And there was nothing better that could have happened to her in this life than living in the Outer Banks and being born into this family. It didn't matter at all that they lived on the Cut, were Pogues with a well-known reputation and she had to count her money four times before she spent it, to make sure it was enough.

Having John B was something that - judging by her thoughts - made the fact look cheerful enough to not wallow in your own misery. Something that happens far too quickly and usually so unnoticed, crawling around and gaining too much unwanted admission into yourself.

As soon as her brother returned the golden expression on her face, she also looked at the others and was still immensely pleased that they too finally believed how real it is, what Emma and her brother told them about the sunken ship.

So real, in fact, that even Rafe Cameron knew it, to whom she had told it a while ago under a moonlit night sky on his terrace, after they had come up with such self-reflective topics, which is why their connection was immediately more evident.
