The Blood Red King

Chapter One

It's late afternoon and a warm breeze is ruffling the blood red hair of the protagonist who is stood leaning against the balcony of a penthouse watching people walk by a hundred floors below.

He hears someone behind him walking slow, without turning he greets them "Good afternoon Esdeath I suppose your done with your errands then?" The very well endowed blue haired woman hugs the man from behind and rests her head on his shoulder "yeah finished up, Aki? What do you think to having a child with me?" Aki sighs hanging his head "not yet not until I've destroyed the one who was to have me killed" Esdeath pouts but says no more.

Aki removes her hands from his waist and turns to face her, cupping her cheek in his hand thumb stroking her chin "listen my love I know you want to but I don't want to bring my children up in hiding I refuse to I want to give them a life where I grew up and give them the opportunities I had and more" he rests his forehead against hers "I know it's not fair but I beg that you wait a while longer" Esdeath chuckles pulling her head back taking in every feature of his face.

"Fine I suppose I can wait Husband" she says craning her head up for a kiss, but Aki puts a finger to her lips sniffing the air "did you let someone cook?" He asks running inside seeing a purple haired ogre cooking.

Aki's eyes go wide as he looks at the column of flame coming from the oven "Shion what the fuck" he nudges her out of the way as a magic sigil appears on his palm, he pushes the flame down with his hand before it completely goes out Aki let's put a sigh of relief beginning to grip the sides of the counter.

Shion notices his growing anger and attempts to sneak away but stops in her tracks as soon as Aki opens his mouth to speak "... Shion?" He asks "Yes master?" She replies turning with an innocent smile plastered on her face " WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU THINK YOU WERE DOING?" Aki Roars "I wanted to cook for the peerage" she says looking like she's on the verge of tears, Aki takes a long breath out pinching the bridge of his nose "you know you don't do that, one you can't cook and two this isn't our place and we don't have the money to replace Mina's stuff" Shion hangs her head nodding sullenly.

Aki calms himself before pointing to the bathroom "as punishment clean the toilet" Shion grimaces before turning on her heel and heading towards the bathroom "REM" Aki shouts before a little blue haired maid pops up next to him.

"Sir?" Aki smiles trying to hide his grit teeth "please clean up this mess and don't ever let Shion near a stove again" Rem bows and begins ripping charred paint chips from the wall behind the oven.

Aki slumps down in the living room on the sofa rubbing his neck, Esdeath strides in glancing at the discomfort on Aki's face before she walks round and begins rubbing his shoulders "Shion?" She asks gaining a nod "I don't understand she is a brilliant person and a phenomenal fighter but she just doesn't listen and her absent mindedness is gonna get someone hurt" Esdeath walks round the sofa again and sits on his lap.

"I know Aki but she'll get better, she has gotten better you remember when we first met her she was the biggest klutz but under your command she only breaks like one thing a week" she puts her finger on his lips as he goes to say something "and Mina's already said there's nothing of historical value in this penthouse, and since when are you afraid of vampires?" Aki smiles "I'm not it's nothing to do with that it's just I'm worried I don't want Shion to hurt herself" Esdeath nods kissing his forehead "I know I know".

There's a knock at the door and both Aki and Esdeath turn to see Rem in the doorway "we've been informed of another one sir" she says "brilliant, tell Souei to come back and rest, gather Shion and Miriko it'll be just us four" Rem nods and exits the room leaving the two alone again Esdeath stands to get ready but before she moves Aki moves like a viper giving her a peck on the cheek before leaving a very red Esdeath in the living room alone.

Out in the foyer Aki, Rem, Miriko and Shion are stood in a circle waiting for their master to transport them, Aki clicks his fingers and the four of them are in an old Warehouse littered with shower curtains drawn across what look like hospital stretchers from the silhouette.

Aki clicks and points up all three of his servants immediately fly up to the rafters where they wait silently.

Aki walks over to one of the curtains and pulls it across eyes clouding over as he looks at a child no older than ten with burn marks up both arms and no eyes.

His eye glows an even brighter red as anger swells inside before stepping back once as an axe lands at his feet he turns and grabs a priest by the neck hoisting him off the ground "What did you do?" He asks a low growl escaping his throat.

"I did nothing other than gods work devil scum" the priest replies as he pulls out a syringe that is aiming for his leg.

Aki grabs his arm with his free hand and snaps it the priest screams in agony shouting for help from his masters Aki smiles "thought it was gods work? Why are you shouting for the fallen then?".

He snaps the priests neck as three fallen angels come out of a back room one holding a weird looking sword.

"Another shard of Excalibur? Saber would love that" Aki smirks before whistling twice as he does his three servants drop from the ceiling and onto the fallen.

Hi so not gonna lie don't know if I'll make this into a proper book or not got loads of ideas for it and already the second chapters about done so I'd love to hear your feedback

Also missing some peerage pieces like a couple pawns and a knight so any thoughts on members would be welcome aswell
