ADIKA - HIS OTHER HALF (18+)

1~A PROMISE

1 December

9:30 p.m.

A pregnant woman was sprinting along the highway near a settlement, hoping God to send someone to help her. Her face was battered, her body was numb, and she knew her water was ready to burst. Her final hope hangs on a slender thread that is doing its best not to snap.

She just saw a light, followed by many of them. She ran towards the cars with all of her strength. When the car came to a halt, a guy hurried outside to check what had occurred, and when he realised she was ready to pass out, he contacted his master to inform him of the situation, who quickly instructed them to place her in the back seat and drive to the nearest hospital as soon as possible.

A painful cry can be heard from the emergency room. That man, along with his master and master's wife, are waiting outside for the delivery to take place. Kids were fast asleep on the seats outside the ward.

The screaming immediately stopped. Everyone glanced at each other, not knowing what had happened. After a while, the Doctor walked outside and asked who the father was, to which the guy responded, "No One".

The Doctor assured them, with a perplexed expression, that the mother and newborn daughter were safe but they still needed to take some tests on the mother and her body seemed weak. While the children awoke, the elder asked the doctor if they may see the child. The doctor told them that they might see the patient after an hour.

The master added, "Homura (Akuma's father), have some rest for now; I'll take care of everything for now, and kindly phone Vikram and inform him of the situation. Hana, honey, please relax for now; I believe you'll need to assist that lady with some tasks."

Hana answered, "My darling, you think I'll let you bear the entire load by yourself. Don't worry; I'm not exhausted, and I believe Akuma and Tsukiyomi are more energised now."

After about half an hour, they went inside the room to meet the woman who was staring at her baby in the crib with tears in her eyes. She was lost in her thoughts, unaware of the presence of new people in the room.

Hana cleared her throat to get her attention towards them. She said," Are you feeling good, My child? The woman laying there tried to sit on the bed but she was stopped by Hana. Who made her lay on the bed and caressed her hair to comfort her. After a few minutes, she asked," My child, feel free to share what happened with you, so we could understand the situation."

They learned that the woman's name was Riddhi. She came here to spend a few days with her husband, but when he started drinking with his family and started beating her when she refused to drink alcohol, with so much difficulty, she fled to safeguard the kid in her womb. Akuma and Tsukiyomi were listening to this and looked at each other before asking the elders if they might take the female kid with them.

Akimitsu had the same thinking, but they can't take a child from her mother, right?

Riddhi sobbed and sought to join her hands around the IV drip, which Hana interrupted in the middle of. Riddhi begged in a soft voice, "Please take her with you. I can't take her with me. He'll take her from me, and I have no idea what he'll do with her; PLEASE TAKE HER."

She has previously informed them about her husband's alcoholism and aggressive behaviour. They can see she was too young to bear a child.

Hana tried to soothe her, asking, "Why??? Don't you want to leave him and raise your child?" Riddhi responded, "Jiji, I can go away from here and start a new life with my child, but I know he'll find me and take my child away from me. I recognise you from Siya Rani Sa's photo, and I believe in you. Please take her, make her strong and courageous while being true to her heritage. p-please."

Akimitsu had already decided to keep this mother and her infant under his wing, and hearing her cries made his heartache. He understands the pain of losing loved ones, including his children. He didn't want the young girl to suffer it too.

Her spouse is not an issue; with one command, he may end his life. The primary issue is convincing Ridhima to live with them as well.

Akimitsu, who had been silent from the beginning, remarked, "Hana, I do not want to make any decisions without your permission. But what if there's another opportunity to be a better parent or grandparent? I knew I wanted to protect her from the moment I saw her. Ridhi, You need not be concerned about your spouse; we are well capable of protecting you.

I assure you that we will take her with us and make her into someone powerful who will not bow to anyone. I guarantee you that, but we won't abandon you like this. Homura, phone Vikram and tell him we're sending a helper for Saraswati, and explain why. I'll talk to him tomorrow with a clear head since I don't think I'll be able to leave here. Riddhi, if anybody asks about the kid, say she died. After some time, we will take you with us so that you can spend tranquil time with your child. Do not worry, just have the desire to live for your child." Homura nodded and walked out to speak with Raja Sa.

Saying that Akimitsu took up the newborn kid from the crib as she awoke from her slumber. When that infant gazed at him with such little, lovely eyes, his chest felt warm. He approached Riddhi and handed the baby to her. She cuddled the baby close to her, and the infant recognised her mother's warmth.

Hana averted her gaze to hide her emotions; it reminded her of the moment her baby was born. She, too, kept him close with the support of Akimitsu. But their child is not with them now. He left them, his children, and everything. She felt Akimistsu bring her into his embrace; perhaps he knew her inner struggle.

She has been a strong pillar in the family since the tragedy occurred, but that does not mean she is unaffected by it all. Her husband is also aware of the situation. That is why he does everything he can to support her, comfort her, and show her all his love.

Ridhi saw the two kids alongside the elders staring at the newborn with curiosity, so she motioned for Akuma to approach her and delicately gave the baby to him, followed by Tsukiyomi.

The toddler grasped Tsukiyomi's fingers, which were on her cheek. They let out a gasp as the infant grinned at them.At this point, they decided to protect her till their last breath and make her stronger than anyone else.

Riddhi urged Hana to approach her and stated, "Jiji, I have a request. Please name her Mahika; that's all I'll offer her for now. Thank you again for everything you've done for us. I am not sure what would have happened if you had not helped us. Please love her as now she is your child. I will see you all soon."

A night with heavy turning events, led to the creation of the new story. And it all started with 'A Promise'.
