After I told Lacy about my past I felt a sense of relief knowing that someone knew other than me. She was turning out to be a great friend. We started doing everything together and everything was great. Misty actually came over to see how I was doing and I finally told her what happened.

"With everything you told me plus the police interviews where he's admitting his guilt we have a really strong case. There's another matter I need to discuss with you though. We found your room upstairs in the house and it was completely normal. Nothing was changed. You still have everything up there I assume. There are clothes and all that teenager stuff. The police told me to contact you and find out what you wanted to do with it." She had a huge smile on her face. It looked like she was hiding something.

"What aren't you telling me?"

"We also found your mom's stuff and I was going to surprise you and give it all to you when we got to the house if you wanted to go but I'm terrible at surprises."

Lacy walked in with a mouth full of food, "It's true. I would always know what presents I was getting as a kid because she just couldn't wait to tell me."

"You are so gross Lacy."

"What? I'm hungry." She said it with a childlike innocence that made me laugh, not  a mean laugh. Just a light, happy laugh. Man it felt so great to laugh again. I missed it so much.

Then I noticed Misty looking at me with waiting eyes. "Do you want to go get your things?"

"I guess so. Just let me leave if I need to. I honestly don't know what I'll be able to handle."

"That is completely fine. We'll be here right beside you through it all."

"When do we have to go?"

"Soon."

"How soon is soon?"

"A couple hours. Right after lunch."

"Wow....Okay."

"Sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I just found out today and I came over as soon as I did."

"It's okay. At least I have time to prepare myself for the memories."

"Yeah. It's good that you have that chance. But I really need to head off and I'll come and pick you two up later."

"Okay and Misty...."

"Yeah?"

"Thank you for everything."

**************

Lacy looked like a mad woman going through clothes for me to wear. We did a little shopping, but it was by no means a lot of clothes. My outfits consisted of a couple shirts and a couple pairs of pants. She finally gave up and went to her own closet finding a nice shirt and a pair of short white shorts.

"Why are you having me dress up so much to go to that place?"

"Because we're having a girls night and I have a huge surprise for you."

"Are you sure it'll be good having a girls night tonight? Because after we go to the hell house I'm pretty sure my emotions will be completely scrambled and messed up."

"I'm sure the surprise will make you forget all of that. I promise."

"Okay.....whatever you say." I wasn't about to argue wit her because we were becoming really close friends and I didn't want to ruin it. We've only know each other a few weeks, but it truly felt like a lifetime. She was the first girl I've gotten close to that really seemed to genuinely cared.
