TICK... TICK... TICK
"You look so cute sittin' in your boat, I wanna suck out your eyeballs... And rip out your throat~"
Bass filled the room, as Bonnibel used the Vampire Queen's records to fill the silent space. On a regular day, it would've been as quiet as her pet rat, while she worked on new scientific discoveries. On the other days, when she did listen, she was baking. Making silly little candy or pastry creatures. Instead, she was using her time wisely to pack for ghost-hunting. Ghost-hunting, an activity growing quite popular with the average teenager in the small city. she didn't believe in the paranormal, much less: the supernatural. Sure, she loved her friends to death, she really did. But to drag her away to "hunt" something that didn't exist? Distasteful.
She just graduated, and out of all things: Raini suggested that they go ghost-hunting before going off to college! Finn was the only exception; he was a few years younger then the group. Jakes younger brother. And oh glob, he once had the most provoking crush on her.
Countless times had they attempted to hook her up with him. Each time ended up with Bonnibel rejecting him. She wasn't too interested in the dating scene.
At least Finn was more mature now. He went through his first girlfriend not more than a year ago. He wasn't actively looking for anybody, but he recently met a girl named Huntress. The two of them had a more causal relationship from what she heard.
From the group-chat, they planned to stay for only a few nights, a week if they were lucky and the house had working electricity. They were supposedly staying in the haunted Abadeer Manor, built in the 1700s. As of recent, those who wandered in were either never seen again. Or ran away screaming bloody murder.
Neatly folding a shirt, Bonnibel sighed. Sitting herself down beside her bed. Opening up her phone, she typed in the Abadeer Manor in her search-bar. Attempting to see what the appeal of the household was.
The old Abadeer manor. In it lived a man; Hunson Abadeer. As urban legend says, after years of mindlessly using his power for evil, he got cursed for his deeds. Forced to roam the earth until he went insane, he became a serial killer in a matter of years. Upon being caught, they burnt him at the stake. But, as the flames licked at his body, he seemingly disappeared. And is now rumored to be haunting the mansion.
What a bunch of baloney. Immortals didn't exist, it was proven scientifically wrong. Sure, one could grow to a large age. If anything, sickness or something else could wipe them out.
Suddenly her phone buzzed, causing Bonnibel to launch her phone out her hands. Giving all her might not to let it hit the floor, she mindlessly grabbed for it. Instead, it bounced onto the floor. Before laying face-down. Quickly grabbing it, she inspected the screen. No new cracks.
Finn (19:32) - Hey Bonnie! We're gonna arrive soon. Better hurry up, before Jake quits on us.
The same could be said for her.
I'll be outside when you guys get here. - Bonnibel (19:33)
Hauling herself up, she glanced around the room. Making a quick mental note to reorganize when she gets back. Carefully, she removed the vinyl from the player, placing it back into its case. She would never let anything bad happen to them, they typically get sold out really fast. Continuing on, she double-checked she packed everything she needed.
Making sure the suitcase was properly closed, she dragged it out to the living room. Glancing down at the time, they should be arriving any minute now... She grabbed her housekeys, moving her stuff to the front door. She was always so anxious on remembering if she locked her things.
