Bucky is living at the tower with the Avengers, but he isn't cleared for missions yet. Loki, however, is part of the team. One time, the team goes out against HYDRA, but it's a trap. Bucky is all alone at the compound but is attacked. The Avengers are scared for his life, and they race back. He is turned into the Winter Soldier and attacks the Avengers once they arrive. Everybody is prepared to kill him, because they think that there is no other way. Loki, however, asks to try and get Bucky back. He uses his magic to go into the Winter Soldier's head, and gradually brings Bucky back. However, Loki is now exhausted and collapses from the use of all the magic. Bucky becomes extremely over protective of Loki and stays by his his side until Loki awakens three days later. The two confess their growing attraction and kiss.
