crimson, the deep shade of red from blood. crimson red blood, a very bad sign when dealing with any situation, especially now. more so now that isabella stood beside maggie watching a man drenched in crimson run to them.

a young boy held tightly in his arms, crimson staining the boys shirt soaking into the fabric. "dad!" maggie shouted, her hand grasping her sisters arm pulling her back, a few steps away from the man.

"was he bit?" the green girls father questioned, watching the man dressed as a sheriff shake his head. "shot. by your man." he told, glancing between the few, "otis?" patricia questioned, followed by a gasp. "he said to find hershel. that you?" the man croaked out, his face stained with tears to which the owner of the farm nodded.

"my boy! help him!" the man croaked, isabella hurried inside after maggie, "patricia i need my full kit! maggie come help me, isabella towels sheets anything to slow the bleeding!" their father yelled to the girls, barking orders as he took the man and child into the far room.

the blonde dashed to the hall closet, grasping any towel or sheet in sight. doing her best to hurry back to her father. "pillow case" herschel told the man, the four girls getting the necessary teams prepared. folding over the sheet isabella took off the already soaked through bloody pillow case laying the sheet on top of the boy.

"i've got it" patricia told the man, moving to place pressure atop the young boy. "maggie i need an iv" hershel told the brunette, "we've got it step back" maggie told the man.

"what's your name?" hershel questioned over the rest of the greens, "rick" the man stuttered out to which the girl nodded. "isabella get him out of here" hershel told, looking to his youngest daughter who nodded. gently grasping the stunned man's arm.

"my dad will save him" the girl spoke softly guiding the man outside. "do you want some water?" isabella questioned the man who slowly nodded his head, looking to otis and another man who came running up.

"i'll go grab you a glass" isabella mumbled softly to the man, swinging open the screen door. walking into the tiled floored kitchen the blonde grasped a glass cup quickly filling it with water.

leaving the kitchen the girl caught glimpse of the three men making their way to where the young boy was at. following the three in isabella gently handed rick the glass, offering a tight lipped smile. which the man couldn't return, no matter if he wanted to.

side stepping isabella stood beside maggie who gently grasped the teens hand, wiping the blood from the girls fingers. "is he gonna be okay?" the blonde questioned softly, maggie smiled sadly, "daddy's gonna do everything he can" she mumbled to the girl who nodded slowly.

"what happened?" hershel questioned otis who stuttered over his words, barley able to get anything out of his mouth. "there was a deer, the bullet went straight through it." otis stuttered as he moved to patricia who hugged him tightly. "what type of blood does he have?" hershel questioned rick who spluttered of his words, running his hand through his hair. "a positive like mine" he told hershel who nodded with a hum. "good don't run off i might need you" hershel told the man who nodded his grip tightening with anxiety around the glass.

"what happened?" hershel questioned looking to otis who gripped his hat tightly in his hands. "i was tracking a deer. it went clean through" otis breathed out heavily. his hands shaking as he grasped patricia's face. "the deer certainly helped him. it slowed the bullet but it did not go through clean. i'm counting six pieces" hershel spoke lifting the small towel up reaching for isabella's hands that held a clean fresh one.

"i didn't see him till he was on the ground i swear" he cried softly. his eyes watering as tears fell down his cheeks slowly. "lori doesn't know. oh god lori doesn't know" rick cried his arms wrapping around shane who pulled the man into a tight embrace.

"we need space" isabella told, grasping a small pair of tweezers wiping them down with anticipation. "if you want us to save him we need space" hershel added watching his daughters work busily around him. preparing to help the small child laid on the table.

"get them out of here" maggie muttered to the blonde who glanced to the two men who were looking more pale by the second. "your best with people" maggie added to which the teen nodded slowly. handing over the tools and moving towards the two men. "my daddy's gonna do everything he can to help your boy rick. but we need space" isabella told gently pushing rick back his friend following soot.

"we need space your crowding us." she added as the two men left finally giving the green family space to work on the young boy.

the sight of blood had never had a good effect on isabella. the sight of the thick crimson liquid was enough to make her want to hurl, when watching movies anyway. although now that their was a life on the line and she could help save the young boy the thought of hurling at the sight hadn't crossed her mind once.

the only thing on her mind was saving the child, or doing whatever she could to help her father save him. her hands gently grasped the sheets at the end of the bed folding them to create some sort of layered bandage. to perhaps help slow the bleeding until they could get the bullet pieces out.

"we need to get the fragments out" hershel told the girls who looked towards him unsure of what to do. "get rick. we're gonna need blood, and a lot of it" hershel told looking to maggie who nodded exiting the room to get the man. "isabella get the iv ready" hershel told the teen who nodded moving to grasp the iv.

the grimes man walked into the room, a line layer of sweat covering his face as the girl grasped his arm. a small cotton ball in hand wiping any dirt away and cleaning the area before finding a vein. "hold him down!" hershel shouted as the boy began to thrash around, his screams echoing throughout the room.

in a quick movement isabella inserted the needle earning a soft ow from the man. "stop your killing him!" rick shouted, eyes wide in shock at the sight of his youngest boy. "if i don't do this he will die!" hershel yelled back, tweezers deep in the boys body searching for the fragment.

when the child went limp the two men looked between each other then to the green man. "he's fine. he's just passed out" hershel told as isabella inserted the iv into the young boy. "you might wanna sit down" isabella mumbled to rick, pulling a chair up for him to sit down.

"your gonna start feeling dizzy soon." she added as the man sat down, staring blankly at carl.
