RILEYS POV

It's in it's in it's in,

Swoosh

I smile as everyone comes over and gives me a high five.

"Good job Ry!"

"Thanks guys."

We were all outside playing basketball at the boys house. All of us were here; me, Tay, Summer, Ashlynn, Keaton, Wes, Tyler and Drew.

"Guys I'm sweating, it's too hot." I laugh at Taylor who seems to be struggling in the heat.

"You guys wanna go hit up the beach?"

"Yeah, let's go!"

I smile and throw the ball at Wes and he swings it into the backyard so that we don't lose it.

We all start walking and making our way down to the beach. We all already have bathing suits because we were planning on swimming at the guy's pool, but didn't end up using it.

As we're walking, the guys are having a stupid argument about if ketchup or mustard is better and us 4 girls are listening quietly.

"Ya but mustard is more sour! Sour isn't good on hotdogs. You want some sour meat? Lunatic."

"But Drew, mustard gives your hotdogs that special taste that isn't plain! Ketchup isn't enough flavour, but mustard you can taste the tiniest drops."

"You wanna know what I think?"

Everyone turns to me indicating that I should continue,

"I think this is all pointless, and we can all be happy with putting mustard AND ketchup on hour hotdogs. Along with some relish."

"Damn girl, you're even throwing relish into the equation!"

I laugh at Tyler and I can suddenly feel Wesley wrap his arm around my waist and pull me into his chest.

"My girl."

I blush at his words and kick off my shoes into the sand.
We're finally here.

As soon as we all have our shoes off, I bolt towards the water, not waiting for any of the others.

Me feet meet the water and I close my eyes and breathe in the salt water smell.

I open my eyes and look back up the beach and see my friends following behind me.

I giggle when I feel a pair of hands grab my waist and lift me up; Wesley was dragging me into the water.

"WES WES WES WES WES WES WES!"

"What?"

"DON'T THROW ME!"

"Why not?"

"IT'S COLD! WESLEYYYY!"

"TOO LATE!"

As the words left his mouth, I take a deep breath of air and hold it in my lungs while I go under water. At first it feels cold but then my skin gets used to the feeling. I pop my head back up and see Wes there laughing.

"That's not funny!"

"Really? I think it's fairly hilarious."

"You're not gonna find it hilarious when I give you the silent treatment are you?!"

Wesley laughs and steps closer to me in the water,

"Nahhh, I think you like me too much to do that."

I cross my arms and try to keep a straight face while I stare at him, but I slowly break into a smile and give up.

I giggle and swim back over to our friends talking.

"What do you guys wanna do?"

"We should play tag!"

"Ok but you're it!" Drew yells at Taylor and before she can deny, we all swim away as fast as possible.

We ended up playing tag for ten minutes before we all got bored and tired.

We all have up on the game and stood in the water talking.

"HOLY FREAKIN SHIT SOMETHING JUST TOUCHED MY LEG."

"Summer calm down."

"NO. A FISH JUST TOUCHED ME, I DONT LIKE FISH NO NO NO."

Summer starts to run towards the sand and we all laugh and follow her.

We all sit down in the sand while we're still wet; causing sand to stick to us.

"I remember when I was little, me and my friends would always come down to the beach and turn each other into sand mermaids." Ashlynn smiles while she looks across the beach at three little girls doing the same thing.

"Let's make you into a mermaid then!"

"Uuummmm? Ok?"

Summer Taylor and I start patting sand all over her legs and make it into a mermaid tail shape with sand while the boys sit and talk.
We used rocks, shells and any else we could find on the beach to add to her tail.

Throughout the entire day at the beach, we ended up having a sandcastle contest, played beach volleyball and had a water fight.

We spend the entire day out on the beach and we were currently lying in the sand looking at the stars shinning in the black sky.

"I used to go camping all the time when I was younger with my friends...the beach kinda reminded me of that today...I miss it."

Taylor continues with her little story and we were all listening to her,

"We would build forts in the woods, play at the beach, spend our nights at the park....completely 100% care free."

"You guys know what we should do?"

"What Ry?"

"We should go on a camping trip. All of us. We could just leave for a week and forget about everything."

"That's actually a really good idea Ry."

"When would we go?"

"How about in exactly a week? We'll all leave and go."

"Sounds good, you guys in?"

Everyone said yes and a huge smile grows on my face.

In exactly a week I'll be leaving for a trip to be care free with my favourite people in the entire world.
