Phoenix- age 8
Since it's my birthday today, Mommy asked me what I wanted my name to be. She said I am old enough to choose now. I told her simply, "But Mommy, I really like the name Phoenix."
She knelt down next to me and softly placed her hand on my shoulder. "Do you at least want a middle name? Something of your own?"
Thinking about my favorite books, I began sorting through the characters that stood out to me best. There were thousands of princesses, goddesses, and kick-butt superheroes between the pages of those books but one stood out to me. "Athena."
"That sounds great," she responded with a smile, "Phoenix Athena, I absolutely love it." Her lips curled at the corners.
I grinned and said, "Thanks."
"I think it's perfect," daddy told me with Iggy, Nudge, Gazzy and Angel nodded in agreement.
