Ship- Craig x Tweek
TWs- noneTweek's POV
I toss in turn in the tent, it must be about midnight now. I can't believe Mr.Garrison seriously thought a class camping trip would be a good idea. Of course, Mr.Garrison is great at bad ideas.
I decide to quietly climb out of the tent. As carefully as I can with shaky hands I unzip the tent. Please don't wake up Kenny or Clyde (my tent mates). It's only the second of five nights and I'm already desperate to go home. I just want my warm cozy bed.
I carefully make my way to the edge of a small cliff that overlooks the river. Not that we are allowed to go in it. Not that I would want to either. It moves quickly, I'm afraid I'd be swept away. The stars shine above me and the moon is full tonight. I like to stargaze sometimes. The stars calm my nerves a little. The shining beauty of the stars is so calming especially out in the middle of nowhere.
I whip my head around as I hear a rustling behind me. "AGH!" Oh, it's Craig.
Craig and I are pretty good friends. We had a science project together and got close because of that. Long nights studying quickly turned into playing Mario-cart and chatting mindlessly about whatever we wanted to.
"Hey Tweek," He says to me monotonously. I'm relieved it's only him. He sits next to me. Also cross-legged next to the edge. Suddenly I get nervous that we'll tumble over the edge but I know it's not going to happen so I don't say anything.
"Wh- why are you out here!?" I ask him curiously.
"I'm sure the same reason as you, I can't sleep." Craig lets out a sigh and looks up at the open sky. "The stars are so beautiful out here."
I look up again. He's right they are exquisite. I admire them for a minute. I look over at Craig and I'm almost certain I can see the stars shining in his dark expressive eyes.
He turns his eyes away from the stars and to me. "Like what you see?" he teases me. Embarrassed, I blush and look back up at the stars to avoid his playful gaze.
Truth be told, I do. I definitely find him attractive. I can't exactly pinpoint what about him I find attractive. I just look at his face and I'm in awe. I don't want to mess up having a friend though 'cause I'm used to not having any friends at all.
We sit in a comfortable quiet. With the sound of the crickets and the river, it's a serene scene. The cool night air rustles my hair gently and cools my face down from the playful comment Craig had made.
Craig exhales, breaking the calm quiet. "You know, this camping trip isn't too bad." I listen not saying anything. "I don't normally get a chance to stargaze with someone I care about this much," His voice barely comes out as a whisper, I can only barely hear it over the sound of the river. I can't help but grin as he says it.
His hand reaches for mine and I hesitantly let our fingers intertwine. The warmth of his hand contrasts the chilly night and it's nice to feel the warmth of his hand in mine. Though my hands keep jitteirng (per normal) Craig doesn't seem to mind. We settle into silence again and stare at the captivating stars.
The silence and the warmth of our hands tells us both something. That there's something here. Something more than a friendship. Although I can sense that we both know this, neither of us feels the need to say it. We just let it happen how it needs to happen naturally.
There is nobody I'm more calm around than Craig. My jitters always relax a little in his presence. I really admire him more than I let him know.
I turn my head to look at Craig, he looks at me. Though he isn't looking at the stars I can see them in his eyes and I'd imagine they're in mine too. The stars in his eyes tell me that this is exactly right, that whatever happens will be beyond perfect.
