Chapter One

A large brown she-kit whose underbelly was completely white, eyes the color of sun that shone like it during the night looked towards the much bigger feline she was huddled against, hoping for it to be her mother's presence, Sunbreeze, but she was absent. Instead, it was another queen, a queen who went by the name Rabbitheart: a fully white she-cat with dark green eyes who would sometimes take care of the kit when Sunbreeze couldnt.

"Hello there, you little bundle of fur!" The queen would purr, licking Lilykit's fur from brush and debris on her fur, "How was your nap?"

"It's okay, I didn't get a dream today though." Lilykit would mew quietly as she felt the warmth of the nursery creep upon her, hiding her paws in her large, fluffy white mane-glancing at the white queen with green eyes.

Rabbitheart would stare into the nursery's rocky wall, tapping her tail as she'd think. "Maybe you should play with Shykit, or Foxkit?," The pale she-cat begin to stomp her hind-legs just like a rabbit, "Perhaps you'd like some fresh-kill?"

Lilykit would purr quietly, her ears rapidly perking up from the riverwater hitting the clan's shore. "I think I'll just go talk to Foxkit for a little bit, Rabbitheart." She'd say, quickly stretching her tiny paws as her pink tail brushed against her adoptive mother.

"Alright, but don't go too far!" The queen would coo, moving the trembling she-kit, Vinekit, closer to her belly while the bigger kit walked away.

The large she-kit's glowing yellow eyes would stare at the medicine den, the woody medicine den that was surrounded by willow trees. Her head guided her towards the den, yet her paws kept her still. Lilykit wanted to visit her mother, but she knew since she was a medicine cat, she couldn't possibly pay attention to her-

"Sunbreeze has better priorities." The large kit would mew as shed stare into the camp, her father who was usually on the tree stump where the deputy sat at most times wasn't there. She'd purr as she'd hear a tiny chirp from above, swiftly shooting her vision towards it. It was a tiny blue jay bird. Eyeing her, chirping a soft: "Hello." Lilykit would tilt her head, do others not hear this bird chirping? She'd ask herself, continuing to stare at the bird.

"Lilykit!" A high-pitched voice rang, quickly tapping the she-kit on the shoulder, "Wake up! You've been staring at the medicine den since sunhigh! You weren't even paying attention when there was a blue jay staring at you, chirping! You could've hunted it! You could've-" The tall, orange tom with black ears and a long 'fox' face rambled.

The pink-tailed she would tap her paws eyeing the clearing, ignoring the tom's "speech".  She'd sigh deeply, shifting her paws, mewing. "So what? It's just a bird, Foxkit, and yet- even if I tried to hunt it I could've ended hurt!"

"Exactly! So you could've visited Sunbreeze without her escorting you out of the medicine den!" He meowed, pouncing the nearest rock, "Grh!", "Just like that!" Foxkit imitated eating the rock, quickly spitting it out.

"You should've ate it, maybe you'd finally keep your mouth shut!" Lilykit growled, rolling her eyes as she'd see a faint figure of her father near the camp's exit whilst squinting, quickly running towards him. "I'll talk to you later Foxkit, bring Shykit so we can play Catch the Minnow!"

Foxkit would nod, quickly strutting away as he'd poke his head in the elder's den to see if the tiny tom was there.

"Dad!" Lilykit would mew loudly, tripping over her paw, "Lionclaw!" The large she-kit would quickly pick herself up as her father would turn around facing her.

"How's my little lily doing?" The deputy would purr, rubbing his paw over his daughter's head- messing up her groomed fur. His eyes full of warmth and kindness towards his kin.

"I'm okay!" She'd purr, her grin from ear to ear.

Lionclaw would chuckle, "Perhaps you'd like to go practice on how to fish later? I'm sure Dovestar won't mind, after all your my daughter and you're going to be six moons old in two days"

Lilykit would nod, eyeing her father as she'd feel the bird chirping and eyeing her every move.

"Very well, then we will go tomorrow as soon as I come back from this patrol and after you play with the other kits then sleep, alright?"
