“Considering how great dad always was at putting this stuff up every year, I gotta say; Not too shabby…” Sara Lance thought to herself as she carefully watched the chaos which was each member of her team’s version of decorating for the holidays.

Though not without her hands remaining placed against each side of her hip in just a judgmental enough way to clearly demonstrate that no matter how much she did intend on ending up liking their “methods,” they would never be the wiser about said feelings.

It’s better to let them think that I don’t care and then I give them the good news then, the other way around. Especially when there are so many softies on this team. And by so many, I mean Ray Palmer.

A point that was actively being proven truthful by the way Ray was so delicately draping a freshly baked popcorn garland around the team’s pin tree, his facial expressions practically consisting only of his bright and seemingly never-ending smile of happiness.

At least that was Sara’s take on his giddy holiday cheer, anyway.

Though in his defense, I’ve spent a lot of years practically living and breathing only darkness so yeah…it’s different…

“You know man, you would probably be a bit more helpful in decorating with us if you were actually outta that seat helping decorate,” Jax remarked with a quick wisecrack as he took a momentary break from the garland he had been hanging to face the direction of the lounging Mick Rory in the Wave Rider’s captain’s chair.

A seat which he’d no doubt already smashed a minimum of a dozen snickerdoodle cookies into the crevices of. Now whether that was intentional or Mick just being, well, Mick, was anybody’s guess, honestly.

“Yeah, maybe. But is it gonna happen? Not a chance, firefingers,” Mick chuckled, contently taking another harsh swig of the professor’s signature holiday booze (So what if I might’ve blackmailed Stein a little bit into making his Christmas college concoction for us. A girl’s gotta have her fun every once and awhile) from the seat beside him.

“Probably shoulda guessed that before we started,” Jax laughed, shaking his head dismissively as he grabbed the next adhesive for the light strand.

Most of the rest of the team had accepted it, he wasn’t honestly sure why he hadn’t first.

Or more so why they’d want him to “help” with decorating in the first place.

“Oh cut the big man some slack. He just enjoys his milk and cookies,” Snart smirked with his legs crossed over one another up on Gideon’s central console, a warm steaming Santa mug sitting hilariously in contrast to him in his cupped snug hands.

“Yeah, what he said,” shrugged Mick, nodding his head towards his partner in crime as if he’d actually been listening to a word Snart said.

Although it was hard for anyone to hear one another over the exuberantly loud music Ray had insisted they all blow their eardrums out with that evening.

I’m all for hard rock, but this is too much. Even for me.

A holiday belief Sara held that certainly had nothing to do with the fact that, “All I Want For Christmas is You,” had always been her big sister, Laurel’s, favorite song when they were growing up.
