❛ could you shine it down here for her? ❜

Harry did everything in his power to avoid Camryn Jen Rey.

The rest of the Quidditch program week went by quickly; with luck, he managed to switch rooms with another girl after promises of getting his dad's autograph for her. He pretended Camryn didn't exist despite their pact to remain friends. It just hurt too much.

The Hogwarts' Quidditch students joined the rest of the sixth years at the ski lodge resort once the week was done. He buried himself in all the lodge activities to leave no room for thinking.

"Mate, slow down." Ron chuckled at Harry, who was downing a mug of butterbeer rather quickly.

The trio was lounging in the cafe the lodge provided, warming up by the fire after a long day of being out in the snow. Harry had run into Camryn a few times but only really acknowledged her with a tight smile and curt nod. She did the same.

"I still can't believe she called it off!" Hermione shook her head in disbelief, "But I didn't realize you'd be so hurt by it. I thought you two were just having fun."

Harry sighed before downing the rest of his drink, "So did I."

"You know what mends a broken heart," Ron leaned closer, motioning for him to do the same with his hand. He whispered, "A nice dip in icy water."

"You act like you're speaking from experience, Ronald." Hermione scoffed.

"No, no wait." Harry was intruiged, "He's onto something. Smart man you are."

Ron's chest puffed with pride, "I know." he continued, "We could sneak out tonight and going for a swim over the lake. Well... it's mostly frozen but we can melt some of the ice off."

Harry nodded eagerly, "Let's do it."

"How about we leave that as a last resort?" Hermione said, rolling her eyes, "There's an actual pool on the terrace instead."

"That's an even better idea." Ron pointed his finger at her, "I heard there was going to be a party up there tonight too."

"I pass." Harry said, "Especially if Rey's gonna be there."

"What did Camryn do to you, Harry?" Ron gasped in disbelief, "I've never heard you turn down a party. Think of all the hook-ups!"

Hermione roughly grabbed him by the ear, grumbling, "Idiot."

Meanwhile, Harry sighed, "I dunno. I'm not in the mood."

Just as the words left his mouth, a large group of Slytherins walked past. Draco Malfoy was amongst them.
