Todays the day, the biggest risk of my life. And this one wasn't on my bucket list, leaving with Elliot.I'm packed and ready, my parents don't know he's coming with me, they think he's just driving me to the airport. Little do they know that we're going together. I hug and say goodbye to my parents, my mother cried and my father tells her that she'll see me next year, maybe even for winter break.
I hear a knock at the door, I feel like I can breathe, just as refreshing as the bucket list made me feel.
I open the door to see Elliot and once his eyes meet mine, the biggest smile appears across this face. He hugs me, he meets my parents, they talk for some time. Then we leave.
He helps me with my bags. As he's putting the bags in the back, I see the middle row filled already with backpacks and suitcases. I look at him, "You're moving completely?" I can tell because he's bringing his lucky bobble head that he's had in his room since i've first met him. Ella told me about it. "Of course. Anything to be with you." He says while helping me lift up my last bag. I get in the car, wave to my parents, we drive off.
Sorry to cut my story short, but we drive for days. We stop for food, bathroom breaks, and more food. We take turns driving but he only lets me drive once, he wants to take care of me.
We get to California, settle down in the apartment that I live in for school, he's my roommate. No surprise. But one surprise is the fact that we actually work well as a team. It's only been a few weeks settled in, I still haven't unpacked some of my bags. As i'm looking through my one bag, I find the camera I took photos with for the bucket list. All of the memories, good and bad flood in. I look at the photos of us, I laugh. I smile. I decided to print only those ones out.
I pin those pictures ones next to the brand new photos. The new ones are of Me, the fashion designer wearing my clothing designs, and Elliot, posed next to me. Look how much we've changed.
Working against each other to working with each other.
From a group of friends to only having him. All to myself.Oh how things change.
