IV: REASONS

I woke up because of my throbbing head. It's as if I have a hangover. Idagdag pa ang walang tigil na pagtunog ng alarm sa tabi ng kama ko. I reached for it and turned it off.

I sat up on my bed massaging my temples. I couldn't even open my eyes fully. Para bang lalabas ito ano mang oras.

I sighed... Late na akong nakatulog, literal na umaga na nang dalawin ako ng antok. Maybe around 5:00 am...
I once again glance on the desk clock, it's almost 1:00 pm, damn.

Wala na akong nagawa kung hindi ay ang bumangon na lang, kaya naman pala parang binibiyak ang ulo ko...

Habang inaayos ang kama ay hindi ko mapigilang maalala ang dahilan ng pagka-puyat ko...

"I hope you will change your decision, brother..." Lolo Ares said before turning his back.

"Putting a Montreias lady on the position can put us on risk... you know that..." He added and took his way out of the house afterwards.

"What's with this Patriarchal system on our clan?" I whispered

Putting a girl to take in charge after Apollo.... they're seeing it as a disaster. Which I couldn't understand.

Dumiretso ako sa banyo at ginawa ang mga nakasanayang gawin. I took a bath, brush my teeth, prep my skin, while listening to a baddie playlist.

I'm kinda fond of this kind of music. Tho, depende pa rin sa mood ang music taste ko. It's just that, I'm used on starting my day, hyping my dark feminine side. Doja Cat, Rihanna, and Yung Baby Tate has a huge contribution to it.

And today, despite of those lyrics echoing inside the bathroom. I'm not able to shrug off my mind of what happened last night.

Lumabas ako ng banyo na tanging tuwalya lang ang tumatakip sa katawan. Habang pinupunasan ang basang buhok ay agad akong napatingin sa bukas na aparador.

There was my auntie checking every dress I have there hanging. I didn't move a nerve nor make any sound, I just stand there behind her and waited.

She then turned to me holding a black  tight dress, while smiling proudly to me.

"Finally found it..." she stated before approaching me. Nang makalapit ay iniabot niya ito sa akin at tinanguan ako na tila ba'y inuutusan akong isuot na iyon.

"Why?" I asked

"Because it's Yuki's Birthday?" she replied with a hint of sarcasm on her voice

"I know... I mean, why this dress?"

"Why not?" tanong nito na para bang naaasar na sa akin... "It's a gorgeous dress, and besides... sa akin galing yan no..."

I sighed... "ang aga pa kaya..." I just mumbled

Naglakad ako palapit sa salamin at doon tinanggal ang tuwalyang nakabalot sa katawan. I'm wearing my undergarments already so nothing to be bothered about.

"Anong maaga pa, mag-aayos ka pa oo" she said
"And to tell you, wala ka pang nakakain simula kaninang umaga..."

"Bat walang gumising sa akin?"

"I told them not to... Actually hinahanap ka nga kanina ni Mama para sumabay sa breakfast, umalis rin kasi agad sila after." I just nodded

Ramdam ko ang tingin na sumusunod sa bawat galaw ko pero hindi ko nalang pinansin ito at ipinagpatuloy ang ginagawa. Isinuot ko ang dress, at pinagmasdan ang sarili sa salamin.

It's a long sleeved tight dress that falls above my knee. Hindi ito masyadong maiksi at revealing, pero hapit na hapit naman sa katawan. It's just a simple plain black dress. Seems like acubi style.
