A chilly breeze went through the woman's hair as she continued running for her life. A dark and dimly lit street was where she turned to stop the hunter. It was cold and her boots cracked on the frozen ground making an annoying noise. Her coat floated on the rapid wind which blew on her ear as her feet didn't feel like hers anymore. She ran and ran until the forest entrance showed up and hesitated turning at her chaser. He wasn't stopping as his chains ringed threatening coming closer to her. A ringing on her ear was driving her insane as the bracelet on her backpack started to burn. Or at least that is what she felt. Gathering all her forces and holding her purse harder she turned at the dark forest and ran as fast as her feet could.

It was dark and there was no moon in the sky. Nothing could be seen expect threating trees and branches trying to stop her from running further. A few birds and owls flew above her head threating her. On other circumstances she would've loved staying here and spend a nice afternoon but now it wasn't the time. She was full of scratches and all bloody but her run wasn't stopping. Leaping to lose the chaser's tracks she hid behind a giant oak tree. It was a giant one with deep roots some of which had made their way out of ground. The leaves were sharp against her skin but she didn't mind for as long as it protected her. Trying to hold her breath she held her purse for dear life.

Soon after a pair of boots and chains were heard near her and another hard breath was mixed with hers. The hunter kept his feet and looked around trying to spot any trait of the woman. He smiled and turned right at the oak tree and said a cold and deep voice:

"You know you can't run from me forever Adeline. Now give me that bag."

The woman hold her breath and closed her eyes trying to mix with the tree. The man came closer and she held her bag as strong as she could. She couldn't climb the tree or neither run away. There was no escape from this. Then a hand grabbed her wrist and pulled her to the front.

"You are never going to win this! It is impossible!" she said looking at the man right into his empty black eyes

"Oh I have already won this." He smiled and then she felt a stabbing pain in her waist.

A small knife was stuck right in her left part of her waist and warm blood started dripping from it. She retreated from him and looked at the wound. It was really deep and even though just a small pain came from it, the stab started leaving her breathless. Adeline tried to concentrate hard and pull her Power to help her. It was almost impossible with all of her forces leaving her body. The man took the bag and opened it smiling at what he saw inside. The woman fell in her knees holding her wound and coughing.

"You are insane! Do you know what that thing can do?!" she yelled in pain.

"Maybe I am insane but this little bracelet will be my rising to the world domination" he laughed and closing the bag and looking at the woman "And you can do nothing about it."

More blood dripped from her wound as it started to break her forces. Adeline coughed harder and looked at the man with hatred. He laughed coldly but what he wasn't expecting was the woman lifting her hand and shooting right at the bracelet with something that looked like a cyan blaze. The thing disappeared from the sight as a flash charged at the night sky outside the woods. The man shouted and ran away as something like a fog surrounded. But before he disappeared into the cold air of December a final swear for returning left his mouth.

She closed her eyes and laid on the hard solid ground.

What happened from now on wasn't in her hand anymore.
