John

The alarm clock howled. My stiff eyes cracked open an inch and I groaned. Thursday, 7:15am, January 4th 2015. It was the first day back from the Christmas holidays, the alarm clock continued to shriek. I didn't want to go, I wanted to lay in bed all day long, play some PlayStation and eat the cold pizza which Mum had left in the oven for me for breakfast. I was content with settling back into my quilt cover, ignoring the screams coming from my alarm clock, but I was not prepared to ignore my older sister who came flying into the room.
"God's sake John get up! You need to get ready, don't make me come and get you again!" Harry, well Harriet, stood with a scowl on her round face in the doorway of my bedroom. My sister was fairly tall, taller than me anyway, standing at 5 ft 8, whereas I had only grown to 5 ft 6. I prayed I would grow a little more in the next two years but it looked unlikely. Harry was already dressed and ready for school, she wore her normal sixth form attire, pencil skirt and a blouse. If Harry wasn't taller than me people would have mistaken us for twins without a doubt, same mousse blonde hair, same grey eyes, which sometimes looked slightly blue, small but slightly long lips and the classic Watson round face which we were cursed with. "Don't make me come up again John, If your not ready I'm leaving without you!" She hissed flying out the door as quickly as she had come, slamming it behind her. Harry did like to make a scene.
I groaned again but this time pushed myself up from the soft mattress beneath me, swung my feet over the bed and proceeded to stagger to my dresser to turn the damn alarm clock off. I didn't mind school... Much. I just hated getting up so early.
I dragged my feet to the loo, hopped into the shower and let the scalding water burn me. Just remember John, you have lots of friends and you are loved. I said this to myself every school morning, I liked to remind myself that I did in fact have lots of friends and school, that I wasn't going to be left behind... like last time. I shook my head fiercely. No. Let's not go down that road today, Watson.
Harry was waiting in the hallway downstairs when I got out of the loo, her arms were crossed over her chest impatiently, her bottom lip caught between her teeth. Harry always feared we would be late for school but if anything we were always early. I always humored my big sister though and let her take us to school early, I knew she would do the same for me if the situation was reversed. Harry held out a piece of slightly warm toast to me as we locked our front door behind us and I smiled at her gratefully.
We hopped into Harry's little beat up up Mini Cooper, Mum had found her a very old Mini but she had somehow managed to get it quite cheap. Harry and I were meant to be sharing it but I was only sixteen, whilst Harry was eighteen and she would be leaving for University in a few months time. Which probably meant she would end up taking the car with her. Not that I minded, I could always take the bus in or just walk.
Harry, my Mum and I lived on the outskirts of London. We had lived in the same house since I was two, it was a small house with only three bedrooms, but it was perfect my family. Our school wasn't too far it was around about a two mile walk but I was a bit of a lazy sod in the morning's, so having Harry driving me in was perfect.
