The First Peter Johnson Movie | Why fans hate it

THE PLOT:
Looking at it from the perspective of a longtime fan of the Percy Jackson books, the plot of both movies are unfortunate as adaptations. There are plenty of differences to be pointed out, and if you're looking for those, there are several other sources. Some main points for the first were:
-In The Lightning Thief (movie)
🔹the plot of the pearls etc changed the motivation completely
🔹ares fight????
🔹characters and their age (a chapter for later)

Aside from it being an unfaithful adaptation, I personally found it to be just not so well written or directed (although I do stand by what I said earlier about loving Chris Columbus and each and every one of the actors). Even if I try to separate it from being Percy Jackson, it just truely was not effective at being a modern, humorous, action-filled mythological story for me. It didn't connect with me, and the plot didn't do it for me on its own.
