In this world, there are two major categories of people; Canines and Felines. These two families have always seemed to clash, their differences overshadowing the possibility of acceptance and peace. Speciesism has always been a quite popular thing between the two, with harmful stereotypes affecting each side. This tension has been around for as long as anyone can remember, generations and generations of history simply working out this way.
Canines are often seen as aggressive, dangerous, or simply something to watch out for, causing most others to feel threatened or uncomfortable around canines. On the other hand, felines are seen as incapable, weak, or snappy, making most see them as inferior or unfriendly. These stereotypes have been drilled into most minds, causing a separation of socialization. Social groups tend to choose to stick with purely one or the other as most assume the worst of the opposing family. Positive relationships between the two groups are seen as odd or forced.
To this day, these groups have said tension, most deciding to simply stick to their own species. Doing anything other than that risks being considered an outcast. And, with this, these groups have tension between them, causing walls in socialization as they feel the instinct to clash.
