As Juno trekked up the stairs, she looked down at the key in her hand, reading the small tag on it, just to ensure she was headed to the right place.
3-11
"Floor 3, room 11. Got it."
She looked back up, watching her step as she towed her decently heavy duffle bag up the stairs. However, the chatter of voices caught her attention, making her look up to find the noise. There on the steps, two feline guys students sat, chattering to eachother as they pointed to eachother's phones. They seemed to be rambling about some girl, making comments on lord knows what.
Juno gave them a glance at first, but not wanting to stare, decided to just mind her own business and look back down at her steps. One of them seemed to notice Juno, though, lifting his head to watch her as she passed. He made a small snicker, keeping a close eye on her and murmuring something to his friend that was likely not-so-friendly. They mumbled quietly to eachother for a quick moment before fading into their past conversation once more, losing interest in the topic of Juno quite fast.
This wasn't all that unexpected, and Juno just decided to ignore them, not wanting her mood to be dragged down. She let out a silent breath and lifted her head, putting on a small smile to keep herself positive. After what felt like plenty of stairs, she reached the third floor, stepping out onto the tile floor and looking down each side of the hall. There were a few people scattered around; some walking down the hall, some chatting in front of doors...
"Room 11..." She thought to herself, biting her lip mindlessly as she turned left and began to walk down the hall, reading the numbers of the dorms.
3-08, 3-09, 3-10...She perked up at the sight of room 3-11, her heart giving a small skip. This was it; her dorm room. Once she was to step inside this room, she would be making a big step; meeting her roommate. She let out a small sigh, placing her duffle bag on the ground for a moment to prepare herself.
"Alright, Juno. You can do this. You've prepared yourself for this. Confidence. Just... be yourself."
She took a deep breath, giving herself a sharp nod to ensure herself she was ready. She felt nervous, sure, but she also knew she was just overthinking things. She was just going to go in there and get along with her roommate just fine... it's nothing to worry about. This was clearly the start of an amazing year.
