Jenna's Pov:

I woke up with a jolt, my heart racing as I remembered what day it was—my first official day at Jefferson Elementary, my new job. A mix of excitement and nerves twisted in my stomach, making it hard to focus.

I dragged myself out of bed, my mind already buzzing with a million "what ifs." The bright morning light streaming through the window seemed too harsh for my anxious state.

As I stumbled into the bathroom, I couldn't help but notice my reflection in the mirror. I splash some water on my face; the coolness wakes me up and refreshes my senses.

I stepped into the slightly cold shower, letting the water wash away my jitters.

As I got out, I wrapped myself in a towel and sat on the edge of the bed, contemplating which outfit would make the best impression. Choosing an outfit suddenly felt like a pretty difficult task.

I mean, should I go casual or formal?

I changed my clothes about three times before settling on something that felt acceptable.

This should work, right? I mean, they didn't exactly give a dress code.

Plus, it's kindergarten, so I just decided to go with a more casual outfit since I will be on my feet for most of the day.

I decided not to style my hair and just let it down.

Mr. Samuels was reading a magazine at the front desk, as he always does.

That man sure does love that stuff.

He gave me a lingering stare as I walked by. I quickly stepped outside, murmuring a quiet good morning.

The street was a bit empty as I walked towards the bus stop. Pretty soon after reaching the bus stop, a blue-colored bus came, and me and a few more people got on.

I headed to the back of the bus for a seat, as I didn't want to have to move or anything since I wasn't coming off for a while.

Aside from two babies constantly crying the whole way, it was quite a peaceful trip.

As I stepped off the bus, the quiet hum of the city surrounded me. The streets were lined with tall buildings, and the sound of traffic filled the air.

I took a deep breath, feeling a mix of anticipation and nerves as I approached the entrance of the school.

This is it, Jenna, a brand new start. Don't mess it up.

The hallways were filled with students walking to their classes and teachers talking, but what caught my eye were the colorful posters and amazing drawings on the bulletin boards.
