It was 10 o'clock. I was pacing back and forth, wondering what I'll even do! I remember that Sayaka asked Makoto to swap rooms, right? And Sayaka placed a note under Leon's door. So that means I should probably talk to Leon once he's out of his room. That's the most logical explanation.
I left my bedroom and started walking down the hallways to Leon's door. I peaked under his door, and so far there was no message or piece of paper from Sayaka. So I decided to roam around the halls, waiting for Leon to leave the room with Sayaka's note.
I roamed the hallways, trying to stop my overwhelming thoughts. Everything will be okay...I have no need to worry. I just need to ask Leon if I can see Sayaka instead of him, and try to convince him everything will be fine. Then go see Sayaka and sort things out from there. That's easy, right? If I don't die...
Eventually, 30 minutes later, I heard a door open. I went over to the noise and it was Leon, grasping a note in his hands. When he saw me, he jolted backwards in surprise.
"Y/N?! What the hell are you doing here?" Leon gasped.
"Oh! I'm just taking a nightly walk," I lied. "Whatcha got there?"
"Ah...just a note from Sayaka."
"Ooh~! What does it say?? Can I see it? Please?" I begged.
"Sure..." Leon muttered as he handed me the note. Yep. It's the note Sayaka gave Leon before trying to kill him.
"Maybe it's a love note!" I exclaimed. Leon's face turned red at my sudden comment. "Want me to see Sayaka for you? Don't worry, tomorrow I'll tell you why she wanted to see you!"
"Are you sure? I can easily go into Sayaka's room and talk to her," Leon mentioned. I shook my head.
"I'm positive! You need rest after all, certainly after that motive video! I'm already awake, and I doubt I'll go back to sleep anytime soon. So let me do you one favor, okay?"
I smiled brightly, trying to hide my true intentions. Leon smiled at my generosity and eventually nodded.
"Alright. Just...stay safe, alright?"
"Yup! You betcha!"
I waved goodbye as Leon went back to his room. I clutched the note in my hand as I took a deep breath. I got this. A simple lie, but I can't doubt myself. I'm in this damned video game for a reason...right?
"Alright...let's head to Sayaka's room now..." I told myself, in reassurance, as I went to Sayaka's room...or at least, Makoto's room that had Sayaka's name plate. I knocked on the door. When Sayaka opened the door, she seemed surprised to see me.
"Y/N? I thought I gave that note to Leon..." She muttered. Her voice was ice cold, with no emotion whatsoever. Not the Sayaka I've grown to know.
"Yes, but I convinced him that I should see you instead of him. What do ya want from Leon?"
Sayaka opened the door all the way, and I walked in "obliviously". I turned around and Sayaka charged at me, kitchen knife in her hand.
"I need to get out. No matter what it takes!!!" Sayaka yelled as she slashed the knife. I tried dodging the knife, but the knife ended up slashing my shoulder. I winced in pain as I fell on the ground. I gripped my shoulder and yelped in a sudden surprise. Pink blood gushed onto the floor. Sayaka wasn't finished...no...she has just begun.
She ran towards me again, a knife in the air, determined to finish the job. I rolled away, so the knife only pierced the floor, not my flesh. I took a breath as I jolted upwards and ran towards Sayaka. She looked shocked at my sudden determination as I grasped the knife and ripped it from Sayaka's hand.
Sayaka fell on her butt and started backing away from me, using her feet and hands to push her body backwards, up against the bathroom door. Her breathing was rapid...and scared.
"I'm not going to hurt you," I tell Sayaka as I placed the knife next to the golden katana. Sayaka didn't seem to believe me, since she was staying still, looking at me in such a terrified manner. Her breathing was heavy, like she was hyperventilating. I walked over to her unarmed and crouched down to her so we were eye-level.
I placed my hand on her chin and tilted her head so we could look at each other in the eyes. Blood was running down my leg at this point, but I tried to not look phased by the pain I was going through.
"Sayaka, please believe me. I'm not here to hurt you. Quite the opposite, actually. I want to help you. Remember when Makoto and I said we'll help you escape? I wouldn't lie about that. Please trust that I know what's best for you. Killing isn't a way to solve your issues...whether it was Leon or not. Please believe me, Sayaka. I'm here to help you."
I reached out my hand. Sayaka looked at it for a moment before grabbing it, her fingers were ice cold with fear and it sent a shiver down my spine. I helped her stand up and I gave her a weak smile.
"Sayaka, I care about all of you. I will help you and all of the others make it out alive."
Without much words, Sayaka hugged me.
"Wh-Why?" Sayaka gasped.
"Hm?" I hummed.
"Why didn't you k-kill me?!" Sayaka yelled, gripping onto my shoulders. Her nails were digging into my skin. "I hurt you...I injured you...yet...y-you didn't do the same to me. WHY?!"
Sayaka was crying at this point, her tears were soaking my shirt.
"H-Hey...it's okay...you can cry all you want. It's only us two. The reason I didn't kill you? It's because you're my friend. I love you. I want what's best for you, and the others. Please...stay strong. I'll get us out of here!!" I exclaimed. Sayaka stayed quiet before she let go.
"S-Sorry for...crying all over you and...hurting you. I can bandage your arm if you w-want me to!!" Sayaka offered. But I declined.
"It's fine. I can heal myself, alright? I'll put the knife away and heal my own arm. You just get rest, okay? I'll check up on you in the morning. I'll see you tomorrow."
Sayaka nodded, though with a bit of reluctance as I grabbed the bloody kitchen knife.
"Have a good night, yeah?" I chuckled. Sayaka stayed silent, looking guilty. "Hey, it'll all be okay. Alright? Have a good night and I'll see you tomorrow."
"Y-You too..." Sayaka muttered. I gave her a reassuring smile and left the room. I head straight to my room, since I was bleeding and had a bloody knife in my hands. Once I was in my room, I placed the bloody knife under my bed for the time being and I go into my bathroom.
I grabbed spare bandages and wrapped my arm with the bandage. I then got dressed, putting on new clothes so I'm not in my blood soaked ones. I sat on my bed and grabbed my journal.
Day Four...
I saved Leon and Sayaka, hopefully. My arm got cut pretty badly, but luckily it's nothing I won't be able to handle. I hope Sayaka will be okay. I promised Leon that I'd tell him what Sayaka needed him for...so I'll just say it was a love confession or some shit like that. He'd be flustered, but he would believe me, knowing him. God, I hope this all works out...
