Second Motive

"Good morning, everyone! It is now 7 a.m. and nighttime is officially over! Time to rise and shine! Get ready to greet another beee-yutiful day!"

Monokuma's good morning alarm rang throughout my room once again. I groaned as I sat up. I blinked once. Twice. Trying to muster the strength to get ready for the day. I mean, I shouldn't make the others worry about me...so I guess that should be as much strength as I need to get ready!

I left my bed and got ready for the day. After brushing my hair, teeth, and getting dressed, I left my room and headed to the dining hall.

"Heya everybody~!" I greeted, waving cheerfully.

"Oh, hey Y/N!" Sayaka greeted me. "Umm...I have a question. What happened with Taka and Mondo? Why are they so...buddy-buddy now?"

"Huh?"

I looked over at the two dudes in the far corner of the dining hall. They were laughing and...getting along?

"Bahahaha! What are you talkin' about, bro?" Mondo laughed.

"Kahahaha! What are YOU talkin' about, bro?!" Toko responded.

"The hell?" I gasped. "They were literally at each others throats yesterday..."

"They were?" Sayaka wondered. "Then why...are they like this? It's weird."

"Yeah. And feels gross," Hina butted in.

"Feels gross? Hell no. Feels great, more like!" Mondo hissed.

"This almost feels like sexual harassment, somehow..." Hina muttered, clearly displeased.

"Forget her, bro. A girl like her just doesn't get our manly bond! Friendship between men is stronger than blood! A woman could never understand!" Taka exclaimed.

"What you just said? Bro, that was cool as shit! I should get a tattoo of it!"

"No, bro, you mustn't! Your body is a temple, given to you by your loving parents!"

"So, um...who won the contest?" Makoto wondered.

"Who gives a shit?!" Mondo gasped.

"Yeah, don't ask stupid questions! What matters is that we both took part in it together!"

"Huh...that's different than what you guys said last night," I murmured.

"Friendship between men seems very...simplistic. Nothing like what I'm used to with girls," Sakura sighed.

"Yeah, for real..." Hina agreed.

"Hmm...I'm glad you 'bros' are getting along, though!!" I exclaimed, smiling ear-to-ear.

The whole breakfast meeting was interesting...mainly dominated by Taka and Mondo's "brotherhood."

After the meeting, I went back to my room. Hmm...maybe I should bug Togami. He's fun to mess around with, though I also don't want him to hate me too. So I'll have to be aware of Togami's temper and how annoying I can be sometimes.

I trotted to the library, where I saw him, reading.

"Heya Mr. Togami!" I exclaimed. He glared at me menacingly.

"What do you want?" He hissed.

"Just wanted to check up on you."

"Why?"

"Uh...because that's the respectful thing to do?"

Togami scoffed, "whatever."

I forgot how much of a bitch he was. I decided to sit down near Togami, trying to strike up a conversation. Togami glared at me and snapped his book shut.
